Might have cocked up a starter - advice?

I've not brewed since last year but I'm doing a group brew today. I am making a robust porter with coffee and the OG is going to be around 1.075. I bought 2 vials of WLP001 to stick on the stir plate (which I put in my brew fridge). Anyway I did this 2-3 days ago, set the control to 20 degrees and w...

Re: Hop Growing 2013

So my plants are growing in a pile unsupported this year due to laziness :) my garden is north facing but the front of my house is south facing. I live in a mid terrace though. I'm thinking having looked at how you guys are doing it, of just getting a long ladder and screwing some wooden blocks to t...

Re: Summer Dunkelweizen

Hmm, it turned into some kind of milkshake in the keg. Need to fix at some point assuming its not gone off, lol. The epic BBQ of drinking infinite beer came and went, fortunately the IPA went down a treat!

Drilling into a fridge

I have a hotpoint RLA30 that I am making into a keggerator (but with remote taps above it). I have a problem with where to drill a hole for the beer/gas lines - the door has the ATC800+ mounted in it, and ideally the hole would go through the top of the fridge. However, I started to drill a hole (af...

Re: AG#19 - Summer Dunkelweizen

Worth saying I wasn't anywhere near a stuck mash... maybe I'll do one with more wheat next time to see how nuts I can get it :D

Re: AG#19 - Summer Dunkelweizen

Extended brewday again as my element gave up the ghost as far as I can tell. Or its got caked on sugar. I moved the wort to another vessel, let it cool down, put some in again and it started up again... only to stop before the rolling boil. I'll clean it. Fortunately I had a spare element as the one...

AG#19 - Summer Dunkelweizen

Re: Summer Dunkelweizen

Too late now, the mash is on, but its funny - I was going to do a lager profile but then after a lot of googling saw that the profile varies wildly in this style and its just down to the brewer. So I went middle of the road. Hopefully the Carafa won't impart something I am not looking for!
