Nice one, keep us updated.👍
I brewed at the weekend using a similar grain bill to yours, but hopped with magnum then all citra for flavour and aroma.

Re: Sulphuric & Hydrochloric

These are my stats from testing for alkalinity and from my water report. Alkalinity = 180 Calcium = 116 Magnesium = 8.3 Sodium = 51 Chloride = 84 Sulfate = 118 All measured in ppm If I used CRS to change my alkalinity do you think it would push my chloride too high? And I can't change the ratio usin...

Re: Sulphuric & Hydrochloric

Thanks Eric your link looks promising, is sulphuric acid now regulated then? The reason I want to try out these separate acids is to for taste, Phosphoric I find works well in malty beers but in pale ales can sometimes leave a fizzy pop taste. Not necessarily undesirable but I'm after a smoother tas...

Sulphuric & Hydrochloric

Hi I have been using phosphoric acid to reduce alkalinity and get my mash ph correct to good effect. I would like to try out using Sulphuric & Hydrochloric acids. Does anyone know where I can buy these products?

Re: Floating bits in bottle

Just an update on the floating bits. I put a carbonation drop in a glass of water to see if when it dissolved there would be and bits floating. The answer was yes! Not sure what they are though? Maybe something that was used to bind the the sugar ball together??

Re: Floating bits in bottle

Opened a bottle and poured it through a strainer the bits that were left had a sort of waxy texture to them. The ale tasted fine though? It must be the carb drops? ? Very strange

Floating bits in bottle

Hi. I've made my first Belgium triple, pretty standard recipe and hop schedule. I used mangroves jacks Belgium triple yeast. Everything went as planned. I bottled after 3 weeks and carbonated the bottles using wilkos carbonation drops. The bottles have carbed up and cleared up, I have opened a coupl...

Re: Adnams Innovation?

Yeah I was considering doing something with the yeast, but as I've never harvested yeast before I am a little apprehensive. It's the hop schedule I'm not to sure about too.

Adnams Innovation?

Has anyone tried to brew a clone of innovation. I see on the website they use boadicea, columbus and stryian goldings. Pale malt and a bit of wheat malt. Was in Southwold last weekend, they have it on tap in the sole bay Inn. Lurvley stuff!
