Re: SS Brewmaster bucket
Thanks for this, the headache is space - I’ve got one already for dispensing and don’t have room for more.

Re: SS Brewmaster bucket
Has anyone got the FTSS/FTSS2 for theirs please. I’m seriously considering it to make winter fermentation much easier. Downside is it’s not cheap. I’m also trying to find another bucket. Thank you

Plum Pudding
Evening
JW Lees do a plum pudding ale which is a reasonably dark Christmas pudding ale. I’ve seen lots of winter warmers around but nothing with the depth of a heavy malt ale which I think this is.
Has anyone tried it or got a clone please?
Thank you

Re: Mocha Porter! Now fermenting...
I brewed this as a Christmas brew so haven't touched it until now. I'm really pleased with it, thank you for the recipe. The coffee is quite heavy, I might perhaps take it down a notch, but I did shorten it up to 25L and use the same volumes so that probably is why it is a bit stronger. The coffee g...

Re: Mocha Porter! Now fermenting...
Beans are all here and going into the vodka. Your efficiency is very high so I think I might shorten it up to 25L to ensure I've got enough sugars to maintain the recipe. Please can I just check though you are on a 90min boil? Thank you

Re: Mocha Porter! Now fermenting...
Thank you that's very helpful. I'm going to go with 250g of cacao beans and put that with the coffee beans in the vodka. I've bought the grain and hops so it will be brewed in a few weeks when I've racked the brew I am doing tomorrow. I'm quite excited about this one. Thanks again

Re: Mocha Porter! Now fermenting...
Hi, I appreciate this is quite an old thread now but I'm really looking to brew a coffee porter, and this looks like a good brew. Have you done it again? Is there any reason the coffee and chocolate could not both go into the vodka? I see that it's 28 L which maybe a challenge in my Braumeister but ...

Re: Help with Christmas Ale
Hi
Sorry for the delay in coming back to you, for some reason the subscribe didn't work.
I'm really after a heavy malted, sweet darker ale with a bit of spice. Does that help please?
Thank you

Help with Christmas Ale
Having scoured the forums there have been various offerings for Christmas ale but (from my searching) I have yet to find an all grain recipe someone has tried, tested and been pleased with. I thought I would get ahead of the curve this year and what with it being just post-Christmas some of the reci...

Re: Recirculating water
Thanks for the replies. I think the flow in to and out of the chillier is setup right as it is from a reputable supplier who provided the diagram. At the moment I have it so that the boiler and chiller are on the work surface with the fermenter on the floor. It's gravity fed so would there be enough...

Re: Recirculating water
Thank you very much for all the advice and apologies for the lack of a reply - I thought I'd set up notifications but it seems I had a setup issue with that too! My plate chiller is setup as: Wort in Wort out Water out Water in It is a 50 plate chiller. On reflection the water is running out cold to...

Recirculating water
Hi I've got a plate chiller but to get my wort down to pitching temp takes about 30 minutes. I'm on a water meter and have noticed that the increase of the temp in the water exiting the plate chiller is minimal. Basically I'm pouring tap water straight down the drain. I've thought about making a wat...

Re: Beer Engine help please
Thank you very much indeed for the replies. I suspect the problem I will have is sealing the Corny with a low psi. I have seen some suggestion of reducing the line diameter? Thank you
