Hi
Did you check FG before bottling?
It may not have finished fermenting. Don't worry too much!
Just try and chill the bottles right down or you could release a little co2 by slightly opening cap an hour or two before pouring.
And Most important, enjoy!

Re: sterilising
I always use oxi-cleaner and then thin bleach 30ml/vinegar 30ml in 19l water as no a no rinse sanitiser.
No problems in 3 years brewing!!!

Hey Tom 1 word - aeration Good aeration is key to getting your yeastie friends to work well. I don't use a mixing paddle, I prefer to pour water from a height then thrash malt in and then top up to finished level. What ever works for you! Just ensure you get good aeration. Re: Strange Pin locks
Hi Yep, someone's butchered those posts! Looking at the amount of grime, dirt and abuse I'd imagine that keg may have been used for some purpose other than homebrew. I've heard of all sorts of crap ending up in corny's. Solvents, cleaning fluids etc If your confident about the history then you will ...

Re: First brew - flat!
Nah
They should be fine. 2 weeks in fv. should be finished fermenting, get those babies somewhere cool.
ideally a garden shed under lock and key!
10 days cold conditioning not ideal but should be drinkable, obviously 4-6 weeks would be better.

Re: New Brewery Build - Goosegog
Hi Goose A couple of suggestions if I may! I'm at the design/planning stage of my build. I've spent hours on-line looking through countless sites and forums for design and build idea's. I would pay heed to all of the above points, you seem handy enough to make some necessary changes at this stage ra...

Great
Thanks for replies. I'm sure you can all remember the first few brews (nervous moments!)
I just thought it was all happening way too fast.
cheers

Is this normal?
Hi all, I've been an avid reader of this forum for a couple of months now. I'm fairly new to brewing! only on my third kit which is a coopers stout (ditch's style). I'm not sure if its going ok.. I mixed everything up on sunday night fully following ditch's masterclass. Here's where I'm not too sure...
