You would need a big suitcase to hide that in on the way back from the US

Re: corneys arrive from germany

Someone on the "other Irish" forum mentioned that they were "half the weight of his Cornies" (Or something like that)

That might suggest a couple of questions,

Are these branded Cornies or something else?
Are they Stainless Steel or something else?

Re: corneys arrive from germany

I do wonder where they are getting all these (second hand) Cornies from

Is there some vast disused airfield in Germany full of the things?

We are up to 216 now.

I suppose the optimum number will depend on how we have them shipped over. i.e. if we have a lorry that will hold 10 pallets then it makes sense to bring 10 pallets.
That makes sense.

Re: Equipment limit

Hi Skiptonian, Liking the sound of your kit, would you be so kind as to post the details of it (where you got it from etc)? I have a 'standard' set up from H&G and am very happy with it but my current limit of finished wort in the FV is 25ltrs, of this I lose ~1ltr to trub and would love to be able...

Re: Equipment limit

For me, 60 litres is a great batch length. It makes 3 Cornies, uses a half bag of grain, 100g hops and 2 hands full of hops for the second hopping to make my favorite brew. I like to keep it simples.

I use 70 litre HLT, 60 Litre MT and 100 Litre boiler. Seems about spot on (for me)

cheers

Re: Taking cornies on holiday?

I have just purchased a spare Cornie lid that has been fitted with an S30 valve. I intend to just swap it over with an original when it's Holiday/Party time, regass it first at home from my pub gas cylinder and then use my old Hambleton Bard Co2 cylinder to top it up - simples 8) I suppose I could h...

Re: Electric or gas or both?

Electric elements seem to create a larger variation in heat gradient in the HLT, much larger than you get with Gas. My guess is the large surface area of the Gas burner helps.

I also prefer to have the cost of the brew off the "House" costs.

Re: Gas Management Board pressures

Just to confirm, the 4 on the left are all the left hand dial, number 5 is the middle dial and the far right is the right hand dial. 6 take off points, 3 pressures available.

Looks like my board purchased from Norm
