Re: 1.1/2 Inc q-max cutter replacement bolt help
Hi,
Thank you for your input.
I'll look for the cheapest supplier of the 5/16 size bolt. I'll let you know how that works out for future fellow brewers reference.
Once again, thank you for all the input, it truly much appreciated.

Re: 1.1/2 Inc q-max cutter replacement bolt help
Hi All, I am still in the hunt for a replacement bolt for my q-max cutter. I am fairly sure it's a M10 size bolt, but every M10 threaded bolt I have tried only does in about half a turn and then no more. I think that the tread on the cutter are different to the threads of a regular bolt. I have trie...

Re: Kegerator out of American fridge freezer.
no idea bout your first question, but any parts you buy will surely be transferable to a new kegerator if/when this one eventually gives up? also it'll give you a free shot setting it up so you can figure out what works and what you'd do better next time! I appreciate what your saying about reusing...

Kegerator out of American fridge freezer.
Hi All, Our American fridge freezer stopped cooling the freezer to cold enough temperatures after 16 years  . It still cools the freezer to below zero, but not to -16. The fridge section is working fine, so I thought why not make the most of this opportunity and use it to make a Kegerator out o...

1.1/2 Inc q-max cutter replacement bolt help
Hi all, Wonder if any one out there knows if I can get a replacement bolt for a 1.5inc q-max cutter. I have managed to mess up the head of where the allen key fits and I have also noted that the threads on the bolt are also starting to wear out. Ideally a bolt replacement would be cheaper than purch...

Hi, Is anyone able to tell me what size the 3 screws that screw into the back of the cheap kettle elements is? Re: thermometer for HLT / MT
The one l have emits an alarm sound and the reading turns into 2 dashes and returns to normal once pulled out, but that's only in the boiler. There is no need to go that high in the HLT or MT, unless you preboil your water as part of your water treatment.

Re: thermometer for HLT / MT
I use my second STC-1000 for my HLT & MT. I find it works well at the higher ranges just as well as it does at the fermentation temperatures.
Just make sure that the prob is sitting well inside the mash before covering the MT to obtain accurate readings.
