Both mine arrived today - very fast service, many thanks. Still warm from the lathe (just joking)
Very pleased indeed - wife thought they were artistic - but they will be put to the services of brewing science on Saturday
Thanks EB

They are absolutely first class. I was lucky enough to collect a few off him in person last year. A really talented guy too and very helpful.

Hi Dean
I'm in Swansea and got a similar report from Welsh Water. I emailed them back asking for the same extra detail you asked for and got a personal reply with the information on those two points by return. Give them a try

Re: Belgium Witbeer Smelly
It's a yeast that's known for a strong sulphur dioxide 'aroma' or worse. Some get it during fermentation - I had it after kegging (possibly I had kegged it too early anyway). Either way - the smell eased as the beer matured - after two weeks in the keg it is nearly gone

Re: What functionality are you seeking from a micro-controll
Hi - thanks BM, I see your point - that makes sense. I'll use the litre bottle in the new fridge. Have got an ATC 800+ ready to go
Cheers!

Re: Mysterio's Sierra Nevada PA Clone
Did some blind tasting against bottled SNPA with friends - generally the view was that Mysterios was the best by far. Bottled tends to be overcarbonated and - in fairness -doesn't travel well or retain its hoppiness. But the great colour and wonderful blend of crystal malt and cascade hops in this c...

Re: Mysterio's Sierra Nevada PA Clone
Thanks for the suggestions - it's a really hard beer to get to maturity though as it's so popular, even when green! This corny is in the beer fridge at 7C so will see how it gets in in the next few weeks I used US05 - but it might be interesting to try a different yeast. It's good to work on getting...

Mysterio's Sierra Nevada PA Clone
Drinking my fourth keg of this glorious beer - thanks again Mysterio wherever you are (and Malt Miller for excellent fresh quick delivery). This was made in the same way as the first three - all recently - though was left in the FV for 10 days rather than 7 and dropped pretty clear. I'm finding thou...

Re: What functionality are you seeking from a micro-controll
Beermonsta - is the same damping effect possible by taping the sensor to the outside of the FV with a thick cover of polystyrene insulant? That would link the sensor temp to the FV liquid temp?

Good thermometer
I've gone through a couple of cheap digital thermometers - one fell in the mash tun and wouldn't work after drying out another was just plain inaccurate (98deg for boiling point) etc. Time to up my game :pink: I'd like one that was digital and battery powered - but with a lead / probe so that I can ...
