Re: Brewing liquor question

To me GW's calculate is more leaning towards what the English want from their beers where as brun water is aimed at what Americans expect from their beers.

Re: Worthington White Shield...

HI. Any chance you could post the recipe please? I'm not sure I can, copyright would prevent this going out on the www. It was from GWs 3rd edition. That said, I know Worcesterhopshop sell all grain kits based on his recipes. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk When I was a moderator in another for...

Mine arrived today, lots of great looking recipes. I like the look of the schlenkerla smoked beer [emoji16]. But tomorrow will be Worthington White Shield, from GWs 3rd edition.

Re: Your favourite Graham Wheeler recipe...

I loved making Feinfoel double dragon but I did make a mistake. The first time I brewed it I brewed a 23lt batch but accidentally wrote down the recipe for 25lt and as it turned out so good I brewed it several times.Others I have really like included Worthington white shield, Burton bridge bridge b...

Re: Beer engine + polypins

I have been using this combination for a number of years. I use 20lt ones and one will last me around 2 weeks. Sometimes the last 2 or 3 pints may be a bit flat but still drinkable, if fact taste wise these are quite often the nicest pints.

Re: Polypin Management

For most beers I will give the beer 10 days in the primary, transfer to polypin and leave to condition for a couple of weeks. If I feel it needs priming I will add the priming sugar a week or so before I intend to drink and move somewhere warmer for a couple of days until it starts to expand then ba...

Acht, the days of slagging off the new owners of THBF are hopefully long past - They certainly managed to p** off a good number of major contributors, mods and admins in an incredibly short time - however, time heals, let bygones be bygones, and so on :) They not only p*ssed people off they banned ...

Re: Improving English Ales

Agree with Rob about the yeast. If you can't get a decent established strain from a local brewery WLP002 is my go to yeast for English beers.

I bought 25KG a couple of years back and do believe it makes a difference. If stored cool and dry it does keep.
