Set two gallons of this going last night, activity within an hour of yeast going in and very rapid when I woke up this morning. Going to do 1 gallon of his grape pyment tonight for something drinkable much sooner then the spiced orange.

Maybe you needed to ferment it a bit longer, did you take readings? I made some about 6months ago to original recipe with 400g sugar and it was dry after 1 month in bottle and same but nicer at the weekend after 6months. Has anyone used brewing sugar rather then white granulated? I saw some in wilki...

Yeah I put the ribena on the hob for a bit to be safe, it's fizzing away in the DJ so all is well.
I haven't been able to find the strawberry one yet, just the raspberry.

I have just started another batch and if I replicate the last lot I'll be happy. Also on Monday I made a similar brew but with ribena, came in at 1080 at the start on Monday, and now tested today and its 1074 and to taste is very sweet, will check it in a week.

I used half a litre of that lidl pear stuff, my bottles should be ready for tasting in about a week, they are cloudy currently. I'm not too sure what they'll taste like, time will tell.

Bottleing tonight. In the end I think I done; 3tins of pears drained 2 fresh pears 300g'ish sugar .5l of lidl pear juice tbs of cinn heated into 5l plastic bottle, filled with water, yeast. I got an airlock and cork for this brew, never saw any bubbling from it though, i guess not a very good seal w...

Great recipe, had about 5 bottles now, everyone has enjoyed it. slightly over fizzy, got a little bit messy opening lol so next time I'll cut down on priming a bit.

What would you think about changing 1l of the water for 1lt of pure pear juice? or should I just add more pears to displace 1l of water?
