Re: CO2 Supplier North London
I use Adams as well. Once you've forgotten about the deposit (I paid mine 10 years ago) I've always found then to be very reasonable.

Re: building a fermantation chamber
As someone currently considering how best to expand that capacity of both my fermentation fridge and the one I use for dispensing, 3 weeks ago I wouldn't have given a second thought to what you're planning. Two weeks ago my sister's fridge freezer developed a fault, caught fire and burnt through to ...

Re: Plastic Barrel fermentors?
I've got two of these and really rate them. The massive opening makes it easy to clean them and the seal is much better than the cheap fermenters (wilko etc) that need petroleum jelly to work, and the bundled airlock is great. One thing to bear in mind is that the picture is of the bigger version (t...

Re: Making a fermentation chamber/fridge
A few further thoughts if its helpful. +1 on on the use of fans - it makes a big difference. I've made three of these from old fridges now, two for dispensing and one as a fermentation chamber. While the DC fans can be really cheap you may want to consider AC ones from Maplins as they can be wired i...

Re: cleaning blocked mesh
Hi all, My hop spider is totally blocked now, it's a really fine mesh one from BrewBuilder. Any recommendations for cleaning it back so liquid flows through it again? All I do is blast it with the garden hose after every brew and before disinfecting. Comes up a treat. If it's dried on try soaking i...

Staropramen recipe?
Always enjoyed Staropramen but it looks like is now being brewed somewhere different and/or to a new recipe.
Has anyone got a good recipe for how it used to taste? Thanks in advance...

Would this be any good for a RIMS project?
Stumbled across this on Nisbets site: http://www.nisbets.co.uk/buffalo-black-soup-kettle/L715/ProductDetail.raction If I was to swap out the lid, add some stainless steel tubing and a more accurate temperature controller would this make a good heat source for a DIY RIMS project? Any thoughts gratefu...

I've got a couple where I managed to fit a gauge successfully. The thing that threw me was that I only had metric allen keys and the hole was imperial....

Re: new hlt build - finally completed
Thanks once again for the info. I'm looking forward to this. It's been ages since I had a homebrew related project to get my teeth into.. It occurred to me this morning that a John Guest elbow may be a safer bet for the sight tube. I've got a nasty habit of over-tightening compression fittings, so I...

Re: new hlt build - finally completed
Firstly can I say how good that looks, and thanks for taking the time to document it so thoroughly. I've got the parts on order to do the same with a spare boiler that was sitting idle, but can you help me with a couple of questions. How did you fix the perspex tube into the compression fitting? Is ...

Re: Barrels
For me the problem was with the thread of the caps - both on the King Kegs and on my fermenters. I've solved it by filing the treads on the caps with Vaseline each time I use them. No problems since then....
