Re: King Keg tap

Take it out....the Inner Diameter of thin tube inside the keg would be to small to work with the pull of a beer engine.
Just attach a length of suitable size hose from the tap(put a jubilee around it) to the demand valve and then to the beer engine!

Re: Wort stuck in boiler!

It its likely being caused by the U shape you have in the copper arrangement. Are the fittings air tight? if the fittings are pushed together they will let air in which will stop the flow through the pipework. If your filter works well for 3 gallons, struggles for the 4th and then stops at the 5th the...

Re: leaking corny any idea

Sounds like the poppets arnt sealing properly.Try pouring a kettle full of boiling water into the keg, seal it up and invert it for 5 mins.....I find that it softens the plastic on the poppet and helps it to reseat itself!!

Re: About to order the barrel for my boiler....

Bite the bullet bigdave and get the bigger boiler, explain to mrs bigdave that with the smaller boiler you might run the risk of a boil over(messy) also you will save money!!if you purchased the smaller boiler, you might find you soon want to upgrade, which would cost even more

Re: Sharing taps between cornys

When you pour the first glass from the corni, it will contain sediment, so the small amount of beer left in the line gets chucked out with the sediment.

Re: Corny airtight seal?

You can add extra pressure on the lid seal by placing thin shims under the legs when closing. If you are adding priming sugars to carbonate the beer then you dont want to find that the keg hasnt sealed properly. Given the choice I would always give the corni 20-30 psi after racking to ensure that you...

Re: best kept grains

Try using a brand new heavy duty plastic dustbin for storing my grain, they are ideal,a 25 kg sack fits in just right with space above for smaller bags of other grain.Mine is kept in the garage so is remains cool and dry.

Re: Proper ale management in pubs....

Does anyone know if pubs normally keep the beer in the lines day in and day out until the cask is empty? I would think that would cause the lines to get dirty very quickly. I serve homebrewed ale via handpump at home and I disconnect the lines from the cask after each night, pump through water, the...
