Re: Keg Chiller

Sorry I'm a bit confused, it looked like you were using copper? (I meant I used plastic beer pipe wrapped round the keg itself, which did seem to work well though) One Sat in a hurry i wanted to keep an extra keg cool, i found a bit of copper left over from making my counterflow chiller on the shel...

Just wondering why you don't just use the line chiller as a line chiller?
I do, but theres a few times when i've had 4 kegs on the go at a time! if all to boys from work come around.... a lot of beer gets drunk!

Re: Anyone interested in a winter warmer

I rarely can brew on Saturday. Monday is normally my day off so I brew on a Monday. So don't change the date for me!

If I can I'll join in the party.... Though I might have to brew the following Monday, if that counts! Saturday are not good.

Re: Anyone interested in a winter warmer

Many years ago I brewed a russian imperial stout, I used the dilution method of golden syrup and black strap, because I couldn't fit the gran needed into my mash tun, it made a lovely beer. Hit 12% if I remember rightly. I'd happily use the dilution method again on a strong beer.

Re: Anyone interested in a winter warmer

Old peculiar is a great beer, it was one of my 1st ever all grain brewes I did, took the recipe from Graham Wheeler book. There is also a recipe for old tom there too, though I've not brewed that one!

Re: DIY bottle washer

I bought a 1100w sump pump off eBay, I think it delivers 200l / Min. I think needs some 22mm to keep flow rate. We used 10mm because we could pinch the top and saved need caps on each pipe.

Re: Help is my beer off?

That's a good point, now you say, I did notice that it had not got going before I left and US05 would have done. I'd not made that connection.

Thanks.

Re: Help is my beer off?

WA, You make a good point. Having just come back from a beer festival, where on our bar we had this most horrid smelling sulphurs beer, we only had complaints in the trade session, and after that it was all drank and we sold the whole lot to the punters. We think it was due to bad water treatment at...

Both fermented with MJ M44 yeast, though for the 1st time of using M44 and both bout sat the same temp in my large fridge just as I always do. Last night ...
