Re: Ecofass Kegs
Hi guys, uber long time since I posted here but I've been using Ecofass new generations kegs since the middle of last year and i am pretty chuffed with them. They're light, simple to use, the replacement bags are cheap - opt for the built in valve type rather than the re-usable as the minor price di...

Re: German pilsner
Rookie, just post the dates as you would normally do!!! Ignore those folks that comment because they can't figure it out. How's the beer turning out?

Re: AG#114 - Magnum IPA
Really! I'll have a dig around here and see if there are similar tolerances but I'd imagine they're pretty strict. It gives the p.i.t.a. paper pushers something to do.

Re: AG#114 - Magnum IPA
It's small but not that small, most beer have at least 2 to 2.5 litres of unfermented wort per 25 of beer. Again, I'd imagine the better results re aroma are with the more delicately hopped beers ie the Magnum in this thread. I doubt you'd notice it in a uber hopped Nelson Sauvin type pale ale. I fr...

Re: AG#114 - Magnum IPA
Not quite what I meant. Even a controlled fermentation is going to drive off volatiles surely, it's the nature of the beast otherwise we'd dry hop right there in primary wouldn't we? All I was saying with my wort priming rather than sugar is the wort used for priming has had no aroma volatiles drive...

Re: AG#114 - Magnum IPA
Slightly off topic but it does concern helping preserve delicate hop aroma somewhat. I've been priming all my beers with frozen wort, split from the kettle run off to FV. I use a calculator to work out how much wort to use for priming to a desired co2 volume. The thing I've noticed is not only do th...

Re: AG#114 - Magnum IPA
I've been toying with trying Magnum for late additions as even though they're often said to be no good for flavour or aroma I do find they have a very pleasant floral/fruity aroma when opening a fresh bag.
I use them a lot for bittering so I'll certainly be keeping an eye on this threaderoony.

Re: aramis hops?
I've carried on plugging away with Aramis in various ways over the last year... (where the hell did that go?) and I am still pretty much underwhelmed by them all in all. However, pair them with H. Mittlefruh (bittering and 20 mins from flame out) in a Belgian Dubbel and wowwweeeeee!

Re: Any Interest in Printed Bottle Caps?
I am very interested in this, Sam. I run a craft brewery over in France and have been looking for small run (500 to 1000 ish) printed caps. Are you ok with supplied artwork (what format suits? png, xcf ?) as I handle all of our graphics/design etc? I'll PM you my email address. Cheers. EDIT LOL I ju...

Re: Citra IPA with blitzed hops
+1 great website, good luck with your venture, good to see its going well, Regrettez-vous quelque chose? Wish I was as brave =D> No regrets other than wishing i'd opted for larger gear to begin with. Still, I had no idea how well the beers when going to start selling. My pumpkin beer (home grown bu...

Re: Citra IPA with blitzed hops
stevetk189 great website for your craft brewery. any brewer who can name a beer Effinguud Witbier deserves to do well, love it. not sure you'd get away with it in an English speaking country :-) Cheers, surprisingly few of the Brits around here have twigged the name. It's been on sale in a local ba...

Re: Citra IPA with blitzed hops
Salut Cillian, I have friends who run La Cervoiserie bar in nearby Limoges. They try to get English beers but the import fees are ridiculously expensive so they are forced to avoid them unless they can justify 6 to 8 euros a 50cl bottle. It's madness and just age old politics. At the moment the only...
