Re: mangrove jack malt enhancer?

Yeah that's what I thought however they clearly say that this is 100% lme with no dextrose or malto dextrine and everyone seems to be selling it for £4.99 even malt miller.

Returning to brewing - best kits?

What are the best kits available? The mangrove jack ones have taken my fancy by not being tinned extract, having a good yeast and dry hops but not seen many reviews out there. What's the general consensus?

mangrove jack malt enhancer?

I'm curious if anyone knows if this is different to lme? It says online it's 100% liquid malt extract but I can't work out why 1.2kg is £4.99 yet they also sell LME for 1.5kg £9.99 most places online. Is there any reason you couldn't use this for extract brewing?

Re: Fresh wort - request

No clubs local to me, never heard of any in Sheffield where I lived before either. I did some home brew trades years ago so I know how it can taste plus I know that bar some small differences realistically drinkable beer should be easy so I know something is off, going to bleach all my equipment, wa...

Re: Fresh wort - request

Tbh now you mention it I think when I’ve tried them most smell/seem alright pre packaging. I’ve been packaging into a tap a draft so doesn’t have the benefits of moping up oxygen as you said above. I think I’ll try bottling this batch and being very careful with my bottling and see how it goes.

Re: Fresh wort - request

Oxidation is a possibility it’s potentially the only thing I haven’t ‘fixed’. But based on what I see some homebrewers do on YouTube they should be having way bigger issues then I do. I have a batch on now so I’ll be super careful when I bottle and see how that goes. I’m trying bottling again as tha...

Re: Fresh wort - request

Long established issues just can’t quite seem to fix, I’ve tried kits, all grain, extract, recipe kits etc. Everyone just doesn’t taste right, hoppy beers are just bitter with no flavour. Just always something off about them. I’ve read everything you can read, I clean everything, sanitise with stars...

Fresh wort - request

Looking for someone local to Barnsley to help me out with something. Wanting someone to make/give me some freshly brewed wort, can be 5litre in a one gallon jug. Just wanting to brew someone else’s wort and see if my brewing issues are from brewing or fermenting/dispensing. Will pay for the wort/tim...

Whirlpool only hopping?

Has anyone tried this? Adding most/all hops at flameout and whirlpool steeping for 30-60 minutes which beersmith shows can give a decent IBU level. So ahas anyone tried this, if so what temperature, time length etc worked best. Also would there be any side effects to adding no hops until 0 min. Plea...

Re: Pale Ale/IPA recipe request

ended up doing this

60 min
10g Columbus

10 min
7g Buzz Bullets (Citrus Blend from Yakima Valley)
7g Cascade

0min

14g Buzz Bullets
14g Cascade

Will likely dry hop with at least 14g of hops also, but tbh the last beer I did had 1oz and it was quite pleasant aroma wise.

Re: How to fit filter to bathroom tap

vacant wrote:Prompted by BenB's "braided hose", what sort of shower do you have? Maybe you could unscrew the shower head on brew days and run the shower cold through a filter.
I like this idea, its the usual metal braided hose most showers have that screws onto the head and can be removed.

Re: How to fit filter to bathroom tap

look under the sink and there should be 2 pipes, suss winch one is cold ,cut it and fit the filter, one thing worth checking is the tap is mains fed not tank fed. Rented property is the only thing stopping me doing this, there are kits on ebay with a tap and at the bottom is something you screw in a ...
