How many litrea are you expecting to make? Unless the yeast is out of date I doubt you need 2 packets for such a small grain bill.
Just the usual(for me) 23ltrs so just one yeast it is.

I use these tulip shaped pint glasses as they are good for a wide range of styles and are robust enough to avoid disappointing breakages. :(

Re: Portable Corny Options

I used a halfords welding mini gas bottle to gas my king keg back in the day the post is here. I still use this type of bottle with my cornies to purge oxygen of them while filling from my fermenters.

Sankey S coupler spear dimensions

I have just got a pair of the crusader kegs from brewuk. Im away at work at the moment and Im eyeing up some stainless pipe to make a spear removal spanner, can anyone tell me the inside diameter of the coupler?

This will just be a spanner for tightening and removing once the keg is de-pressured.

Re: Using CFC: straight in to FV, or recirc back to BK?

The Grainfather guys did a video about it and explaining their reasons behind cooling straight to the FV. I will recirc back to the BK if I want to bring the temp below 80° for hops but apart for 10 mins for sterilising that's it.

Aotearoa IPA -New Zealand hops/Vermont yeast

Aotearoa IPA.JPG
Looking to brew this weekend and I'm planning an IPA with NZ hops and a Vermont style twist, I'm not going for the full on orange juice look but I expect some haze.

Any thoughts, suggestions?

Re: Flaked Barley

I posted a question about this here. I believe it has to do with the lintner value (°L) of the malt in that if you know what the valve is you can then do this sum.
Lintner_for_batch = Σ(lintner_for_grain * weight_of_grain) / (total_batch_grain_weight)

Re: Anyone tried the Perlick 680's?

My understanding was a forward pull opens the tap as normal, the centre position seals the tap and a backward push opens a valve in the piston ball which has the same action almost as a beer engine sparkler. Pushing the handle back moves a stainless steel piston, exposing small holes. The turbulence...
