I used to give it to the chickens. It's surprising how much 4 of them could deal with! Even after mashing it's probably a bit like giving a child a packet of Maltesers. Now i simply chuck it on the compost heap. Did you stop giving it to the chickens, or just put them on a small ration? I have hear...

Buy a large pan and boil up DME, add your own hops and even steep grain. It far superior than any kit IMO. What kits are you trying? You can get a good pint from kits so you do have an issue somewhere or you are sensitive to a particular off flavour. What water are you using? Does it smell from the ...

HERMS rig - best place for the thermostat sensor?

My RIMS controls on the return leg, and it controls well. However, I ultimately use the temp indication in the grain bed and tweak the RIMS control temp to suit my target as that is the real mash temp.
