Re: RIMS and HERMS temperature sensor position

Interesting…

I put mine inside the RIMS tube so prevent scorching the wort. It controlled well.

Re: I hate hydrometers!!

It's no big deal to just twiddle away the bubbles. One top tip - get a finishing hydrometer, it's so much easier to read an FG off something that only goes up to 1.020 or so. They can be hard to find in the UK though - I don't know what it's like now, I got mine from the old incarnation of Hop & Gr...

BM/GF Hybrid

It won’t be difficult, BM is a PT1000 so you may need to source a probe to fit or at least change the element inside.

CO2 vs N2o for Stout

Not possible in a pressure barrel I’m afraid and you don’t use hippy crack to do it. It’s a 70/30 blend of N2/CO2.

The nitrogen is just (mainly) a propellant to force the beer through a tap with very small holes a high serving pressure.

Who is up for a Super Baumeister then...

Apart from the new interface, nothing really new here.

That chiller is a little cheeky when you can pick up Maxi chillers for 100 quid or less.

In fact I’m cooling using one I pick up off eBay for 30 quid right now! Just needed a new recirc pump.
