4.2Kg Pale Malt
0.2Kg Caragold
0.2Kg flaked wheat

Goldings 50g @ 60 minutes
Galaxy 30g @ FO

I managed to get some Galaxy off the malt miller last month, when this years harvest finally hit the homebrew market. So I've got the hops for this. I read all that that on the website "Pale Ale Malt 1) Goldings Galaxy 2) Galaxy 3) Citra". God knows what Goldings Galaxy is - that must be a typo!! So...

Anybody got a recipe for Manx Pale Ale?

My mate has just come back from the TT raving about MPA. I think it's got Galaxy in. Is it impossible to get Galaxy hops? Somebody must be selling them somewhere!

Anybody got a decent stab at the recipe?

I agree anything bittered with Challenger is smooth loveliness. My last few brews have all been started in the kettle with Challenger. Normally I would only use Magnum, but recently just loving Challenger.

Might give Chinook or Simcoe a go with Nelson too. Sounds nice!

I always re-use my yeast for 5 or 6 brews at least. Never had a problem and I've been doing it for years. I don't wash with acid, I just wash with water; that is, I add water to the yeast cake in the FV after racking the beer off. Give it a swirl to get it the yeast back in suspension, then leave it...

Maybe I got a bad batch! Could see how Eldorado dry hop would help though.

Just made a NEIPA with El Dorado, Citra and Mosaic with coastal haze yeast. It’s very pineappley. Will post the recipe when I get chance.

I did a very similar recipe a few years ago. From my notes and from memory it was quite harsh at first and took a long time for the amber malt to mellow out enough to be drinkable. I mean 4 or 5 months. It definitely got better with age.
