Re: Flickering screen and cut out on Karstein/BrewDevil/Guten
Wow the Robozilla parts are cheap! Unfortunately not the same as the Klarstein/Ace/Guten etc ones so cant drop one of them in. I tested with the thermal switch bypassed - same response with the screen flickering off and the power cut out so looks to be a problem on the PCB itself. I will see if Smar...

Flickering screen and cut out on Karstein/BrewDevil/Guten
Hi there. My klarstein has been happy for three years yet today turns itself off once it gets warm (end of mash or 80deg on boil cycle) - the lcd screen flickers and the unit resets. I’ve opened up the bottom and everything looks Ok, nothing obviously overheated or a smell of burning and the PCB is ...

Stainless Corny Liquid out posts
So i was browsing as you do on the Maltmiller site and saw they have really nice looking stainless disconnects for corny kegs! Has anyone here used them or similar? I do find the usual plastic ones a bit rubbish and seem get a bit stiff and wear out over time, so a shiny disconnect to go with the sh...

Fermenter options
While my pastic fermentor bins have got a bit scratched and old i'd like to replace them.
Does anyone have good recommendations for plastic / metal replacemnts?
I do 25L batches, and they live in an insulated cupboard so there is plenty of room!
Cheers,

Re: Advice needed on Buffalo boiler: thermal cutoff, etc...
I found that the probelm with these was the setting dial did not turn enough to allow 100deg+ boiling, but cut out at 98 ish. To solve it i opened up the insides and snipped off the part of the ceramic block that the dial screws ito and restricts its movement. ie my dial can spin 360degrees rather t...

To honest, most of us like stainless as it is shiny and easy to keep clean rather than being rust proof!

Re: Yet another Wilkos IPA......
I've had a few brews that had formed a faint pellicle yet tasted awesome - the funky, more complex flavours of a wild yeast/mild infection is something that tastes even better than a 'clean' ferment.
The wonders of yeast eh?!

Re: Regulator Hose Washer
I found the best thing for the gas reg was 1/2 inch tap washers that i trimmed down a few mm to fit.
They are really thick and robust so once made into a snug fit worked perfectly for my set up.

This looks just like one that Marts Brewing supplies were doing, although theirs was a bit smaller and less than £50 !
