Re: FV Extraction

HI Lee Fair point of view. But I always fill my cornies to the absolute max to eliminate as much oxygen as possible. I still purge the corny just to make sure that no oxygen is present. I agree that the non return valves albeit an expense guarantee no back pressure and proiblem solved. regards Patch

Re: FV Extraction

Hi there I personally dont think you can overfill the keg. I think that the pressure in the keg was greater than the poressure coming from your reg, thats how it backfired and came out the reg. Always de pressure the keg before attaching the gas line. Or you can fit non return valves to your gas lin...

Re: Blackberry wine ??

Hi WalesAles
I concur with your figures 1.085 fermented out to 0.995 will be 11.6%
1.085 - 0.995 = 0.090 x 129 = 11.6%

You'll also need a Cask Aspirator. If you google it you will see what I mean

Re: Question on IPA's yeast scavenging.

Hi Ian
Why not try a meat baster. Fairly cheap and it takes 4 - 5 suctions to retrieve approx. 500 mls.

Re: Low ABV

Hi MR
That would be about correct in my opinion
1062 - 1026 = .036 x 129 = 4.64%
Hope this help clarify your problem

Re: Brewdog - DIY Dog

Hey Jambo
Your right it shouldn't have been at the top of your list but I agree totally with you that 23 litre batches appear to have been the accepted size of brew for as long as I can remembeer. Mind you they guys have always been a bit rebelious haven't they.

Hi Jambo
Totally agree with your points. Ive made quite a few of their beer recipes now and like you say so vague in many cases.
