Re: Oxygen set up

I set flow rate to 1 litre per minute for 1 minute. The cylinder in the photo has lasted a lot of brews. I haven't been counting

Re: Shower pump for recirculating

I'm not sure what pressure our shower pump works at but given how powerful the shower is I would have thought it is way over the top for homebrew use.

Re: Help - plug issues 20l braumeister

I use mine with an extension lead. If I don't fully unwind it then it can get a bit warm t nowhere near melting anything and I have never heard crackles from the socket. If you as using the standard lead that came with the Braumeister may be you should get your house wiring checked.

Re: Adding coffee to a porter

I recently made a coffee Porter with 100g of ground beans steeped in 1 litre of cold water for 24 hours. I added it to the fermenter a couple of days before bottling. I didn't boil the water before making the coffee and I didn't boil the coffee after, there were no ill effects from doing it like thi...

Re: Going Pro opportunity

Have a read of this. It has a Welsh slant on it but is applicable to small brewers in England as well https://www.walesonline.co.uk/whats-on/ ... l-14510008

In the UK.
This would make sense then. The beer stated it was imported from germany.
If it is sold in the UK then it must show the ABV, it doesn't matter where it was imported from. Did you by it from the back of a van at a car boot sale?

Re: Geordie bitter yeast.

Popular wisdom says that Gervin is better than kit yeast. The yeast they sell in Wilko is supposed to be Gervin.
However when I was brewing kits I always used what came with the kit and produced good beer

Re: Weight of a single Campden Tablet

Any one know the weight of a single Campden Tablet? I have the powder and could do with knowing how much I need to treat brew water. I have just checked the individual weight of Wilko's Camden tablets and they weigh between 0.73 and 0.76 grams. So that is 50% more than has been suggested. The scale...
