Can't remember and didn't write it down. Go to the back of the class  Horrible I know, I'm usually a very good note taker. I even have a binder for notes. This was brewed a week before we moved into our new house and it was all I could do to keep things out of boxes long enough to brew. Beside...

Des, My last batch brewed on Feb.3 Racked to corny with priming sugar on Feb. 13 Connected to beer engine on Mar. 1 (let it go for a while because of cold basement) Tasted great, gone on March 17 :( Could probably go less in the keg if you have a warmer room. No real need to mellow out any of the ho...

To comment on the recipe, I've made a version of Deuchars twice, once with crystal and wheat and right now on cask I have a straight Golden Promise. Current version is definitely better. I have just finished reading an article in BYO magazine that talks about building beers and while 5% wheat may he...

OK, here's a page I used to balance my kegs: http://hbd.org/clubs/franklin/public_html/docs/balance.html Using the formula and assuming you are attaching a tap right to the keg, I used a line length of .25 feet (7.6 cm) of 1/4" line, then you will need about 2.2 PSI to get your beer out. At between ...

I don't know of another way to seal the lid. Maybe with some keg lube? What may seam like a water tight seal may leak the co2 produced in the corny. Then again you'll have flat beer.

How were you planning to get the beer out of the corny?

Just remember to give the corny a shot of co2, 10 psi or so, to properly seal the lid. I force carbonate my regular beers, but prime the ones that go on the hand pump.

I'll be tackling Slurp's recipe tomorrow morning, not sure if I can get the Aurora/Super Styrian, I'll find that out this afternoon.
This will be my last brew for a while as I will have finally filled my four cornies and will be moving into our new house the following week!

I suppose it depends on what kind of beer I've brewed. If I've made a 5.5-6.5% brew with lots of hops then I like to have it in the secondary for at least 2-3 weeks. This frees up a keg.
If I'm brewing a session beer then right into the keg after a week.

But then again, if it ain't broke...

I was finally able to get some GP and have made a TTL and am looking at a Deuchar's to do on Sunday. The recipe that I have and can't remember where I got, calls for some other malts and only SG and Fuggles. Looking for any comments on how Slurp's recipe manged. As for acquiring the GP malt, most pl...
