Re: Elvis Juice!

Hi guys, Here's my latest Elvis Juice inspired beer. It's completely incredible. The grapefruit and orange taste completely natural and not synthetic like Elvis Juice. The only tweak I'll make next time is up the bitterness to 35 IBU Drinking a glass right now. Only three weeks old and completely re...

Sorry for delay. Yes - not to the letter, though. I'll share the recipe on the Elvis Juice thread.

Re: Graprefruit Session IPA recipe?

I have an Elvis Juice clone (20L) on the go at the min. I added the zest of 2 grapefruits and the zest of 1 orange at ‘flame out’ and steeped at 70c for 30 mins along with the late hops. I also added the zest of 1 grapefruit and the zest of 1 orange (steeped in 100ml of 75c water for 5 mins) along w...

Re: Can I use a power supply with a slightly higher voltage?

Cheers Lee. Voltage is 10.5v. Hoping to get away with 12v as it’s much cheaper for me.
I might just go ahead and risk it.

Can I use a power supply with a slightly higher voltage?

Hey folks, Hope you brewers are all doing well. I rarely post these days (two young kiddies) but I'm still brewing regularly. Need it more than ever these days! Now then... I'm upgrading one of my fermentation fridges to a meat curer. Had the whole thing up and running today then 'pop!' the dehumidi...

Re: Brew Dog Recipes!

Brilliant. Cheers for this. Much better than sifting through the pdf file. Love that I can search by hops too. :-)

AMS - 6 month 'use by date'

Hey folks, Bought some AMS from The Maltmiller. I accidentally bought 2x500ml bottles instead of 1. I thought, no big deal. It'll all get used eventually. Then I noticed that it needs to be used within 6 months. Anyone else surprised by this? Didn't think an acid blend would go out of date. Thoughts...

Re: Basic fermentation cupboard

Nice build Sonicated

Tensbrewer, buy one of these and there will be no need for wiring anything. Just plug and go!

Re: Element switch overheating

Cheers. They look much more stable.

Interestingly... I've plugged it into a different plug socket and it's not as hot. Current plug socket is much sturdier and plug is tight in there...

Element switch overheating

Hey folks, I built this one vessel system recently: http://www.jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=80104 Having an issue with the element switch on the control box. Gets so hot I can't touch it. This is the second switch I've put on there as the first one melted and died. I assumed that this...

Re: Brew number 31 but 1st one to be thrown

Vinegar sounds like the dreaded acetobacter. I had an invasion of it some years back. Lost 200L, 25L at a time, brew after brew. Killed it in the end with steam and 100c water. To this day I still steam my fermenters and never had a return of it.

Hopefully it'll be a one off!

Portable Corny Options

Hey folks, Have a party coming up and want to bring a corny but without the hassle of taking along my giant co2 canister. Ideally, I'd have something like this. Bloody expensive, though! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-keg-party-tap-CO2-gas-charger-threaded-cartridge-ball-lock-corny-homebrew/3321925...

Amazing! So glad you enjoyed it Matthew. I'll have to brew it again soon.

Enjoying my 6.5% chocolate stout at the min. Sooooo chocolatey - like a dessert.

Happy new year to you.
