reclaiming yeast

My first all grain is going to be a hooky one is it possible to claim the yeast from one of the bottles from the shop lets say from old hooky
Can this be done

thanks for the reply The extract was for brewing got it from a local Homebrew store no lable just in a foil bag. Everything looks ok and its drinkable (JUST) it just tastes like homebrew if that makes any sence most of my freinds say cant drink much of that. my other brew they loved it never belived...

quality of malt

I just wondered if there are different quality's of malt extract, the first brew i had done was with a coopers pale malt witch was great, the second using a premium malt at half the price which just tasted like everything that home brew used to taste like years ago when i had a go at brewing and tho...

regards the mash tun im going to be using all sanke got 4 on order as we speak just getting all the bits together for my first run.
once again anyone in Oxford having a all grain brew day and wouldent mind me watching give me a shout

thats ok then i think i will just stick to that at the moment 5kg too 14L sounds good to me i think i am right in saying continuous sparging is a good method because you can let it run until it gets to a certain reading on the hydrometer. Would be good to maybe watch someone do this maybe get a ment...

i have been looking around this forum for a few weeks now and reading How to brew by John Palmer at the same time. i have followed this book all the way so far and just finished the Cincinnati pale ale recipe which is still in the fermenter, and all is well until i get to the next section on mashing...
