Struck by some differences in the techniques and would like a consensus view from you guys. 1) 1 hour mash V 90 minutes 2) Water first v grain first. Also, tips on using a plate ...

Hi Guys, With luck I will have everything together to start my first ever AG brew day. I have spent some time getting as acquainted with what I need to know and am hopelessly short of taking it all in. It occured to me that what I needd was a step by step plan of action that I could print off contai...

Re: Quck connects
I've just got off the phone after ordering the parts I need from intrico. The guy there is great really friendly and very helpful. The main steer he gave me was how to deal with the different size ports on the plate chiller and still use garden hose for the water feed. He suggested I buy 4 1/2" Cam ...

Re: Quck connects
It's a 12 plate Zilmet and appears to have ports that are 1" and 3/4" across the whole thread. Looks very similar to the last picture on your ebay link even down to the sky blue plastic caps. Someone has mentioned these but I'm unsure of the size I need. What's your view? http://www.intricoproducts....

Re: Quck connects
Hi John, Thanks for that. My plate chiller has differnt connectionss for the water (standard hose) and the wort. I haven't taken delivery of the tubing I will be using to connect to ball valves etc but assume that that will fit the wort connections on the plate. If so are there smaller sizes of hoze...

Quck connects
I tried searching this section for recommendations for quick connects to run a plate chiller but failed to find any. I came across someone mentioning Hozelock. I am thinking of using a tap outside my cellar/brewery which has a hose leading to our pond which needs regularly topping up so as not to wa...

Re: Induction hob
The attribute you are looking for is, does your pot allow magnets to stick to it, as the concept works on magnetic induction. If a magnet sticks to it your in business. One other thing to be aware of is how flat the bottom of the pot is, below a certain surface area some hobs may think it is a small...

Re: Mini Digital Temperature Controller
[quote="sim"]I picked mine up from the post office this morning. It had been there since 27 jan (i couldn't get there to pick it up sooner cos of work!), so that made it 10 days from paying for it to it arriving at my door - dont think thats bad service. For some reason i expected it to be bigger th...

Trial Brews
Hi, I wonder if I can have your views on the issue of shorter brew lengths. Although I haven't committed to all grain yet (still assembling the kit), I have been thinking about what I will brew and am keen to experiment quite a lot but don't want to regularly end up with 5 gals. of something I don't...
