Yeah don't quite understand the point of the junction box, just run a new radial circuit.

BrewUK have been getting a lot of things in stock that look like they've come straight from HBB... Same prices too! :-\

Re: 120L Boiler - Element Advice?
I wouldn't necessarily trust that, I've measured 230V on my mains over the past 10 or so years, in 3 different properties around the country... While it can vary, I don't believe it really does that much.

Crusader set up
Hi guys, I've got myself a few of those lovely 20L crusader kegs, and have most of the bits to start building my keezer. However, I'd like some beer in the kegs ready for when it's finished, so I don't have to wait ages for beer :-) So, I intend to fill the kegs with beer, and store them while my bu...

Re: Bench Capper which one to buy?
I've got the second one. It's quite good. The body is made of plastic though, but it seems sturdy enough, and has capped several hundred bottles so far and hasn't struggled at all.

They're normally copper braised stainless I think, so you're slowly stripping the copper. It would probably take longer that you would care to damage it though...

It would be the acid then. I've had it when I've left starsan in mine a bit too long (like half an hour). The acid reacts with the copper or something...

First starter... Dear lord!
Well, I put my first starter on last night, a Wyeast Bavarian Lager. 2L starter, in a 2L Erlenmeyer flask - with what looked like a lot of head space. Dear lord did this thing take off, like a rocket. Gave it a little shake to get some more oxygen in it this morning and it foamed right out the top a...

Re: Peltier controlled fermentationy device
Very interesting device. I'm very interested in using one to make a custom kegerator (can build to my own size/shape, rather than relying on a fridge). How cold is the air coming off this running normally? Do you think it could chill a chamber fitting say 3 kegs well enough? Though for the price I m...

Re: How do you measure your boiler volume
I calibrated my pot by reading the depth of 20kg of water from 7° to 95°. I determined a depth per litre at various temperatures to use. The difference wasn't as much as I thought tbh - the depth was 21.5cm at 7° and only 22cm at 95... About 2.5% difference then... I didn't account for steam extract...
