Yep, definitely keep it from touching the sides. The John Palmer link above is a good call, have a quick study, it's worth it.

I've also come to the conclusion that cam-locks are pretty but no better than a simple hose tail, with outer female coupling really. The price alone is enough to seek an alternative.
