Re: 10L cheap pressure keg recommendation

You might want to swap out that BZP roofing bolt for a stainless bolt of some kind? Or even nylon.

Re: Hop tea for pellets

I’ve never tried it but ready variable results, most negative. I did buy a coffee press a few years ago.

Have you tried it in a batch yet?

I trust the braumeister to do its thing, it has a probe, display and controller.

Other than calibration why would I?
Not sure why my phone decided to call you The Mash [emoji23]

Re: Review - Cooper's Irish Stout

I did both in my kit days, also the St Peters 2 can kit.

The Coppers original with extra dark DME was the better of the 3.

Re: Thermometer

You can get a few degrees difference depending depending on distance to the object too. This is because the measuring area increases the further away the gun is. Useless. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20221027/e805e3e43cf872d6f445c486f2abda1a.jpg And a quick note to the uninitiated - "Resolution...

Re: Brewing in a drought!!

No mention on the MM site regarding max temp. A quick Google suggest 120 degC.

Are we sticking it straight in after the boil?

Thermometer

Think about this... The braumeister has a short probe at the bottom of a 50 litre vessel. You can hardly call that ideal. Perspective. Any thermometer only reads what "surface" it touches. My IR gun, will do a scan average or a spot temp. I use it in my large 500l fermenters everytime, before and a...

Disgusting!

I find it to be. I ditched oxy as I have very hard water and the chalky film it left was a pain. I now use max power TFR or even better is Surfex HD. Link below. This gets used on the brewery, bathroom, keg washer etc. it’s water based and free rinsing. Not had any taste impact since switching over....
