Re: Car Tyre Valve in my pressure barrel
Here's Travis's shots. Perhaps he'd like to describe them: Is there any chance of revisiting this idea; the initial posts seemed ingenious and useful. If anyone has experience of this modification and could share a basic how to guide with ( non photo bucket) pics and a basic idiots guide it would b...

Re: Marstons Old Empire Recipe help pls!
It's been a while since any comment made here or elsewhere on an Old Empire clone recipe. Can anyone help with a tried and tested version now? Keen to try to replicate as lots of the empty bottles that are awaiting my new brewing hobby were full of Old Empire just months ago and it's brewed just dow...

Re: iOS 11.2.5 Crashes Grainfather App; Warning
It seems that this affects the "grainfather app" but not the grainfather connect app. I have only discovered the (presumably) newer connect version since my original post but have transferred recipes into it typed on iPod and iMac which Synch via the "cloud facility " between all 3 including the iPh...

Re: iOS 11.2.5 Crashes Grainfather App; Warning
Thanks, I had already searched the iOS issues hence the known bugs assumption. Main reason for post was to warn others to avoid the same issue, secondarily I wondered if my ignorance of the choices of different ways to use the apps might offer any solutions or ways to use the grainfather better from...

Re: Crossmyloof yeast
Your point is well-made, I agree that splitting a batch and changing the yeast as the only variable would be ideal. I might do that in the future, when I have multiple fermenting vessels. For now, If I brew the same recipe at a later date and keep notes of the time since brewing and compare tastes a...

iOS 11.2.5 Crashes Grainfather App; Warning
Some help and advice would be much appreciated. I am a newbie to brewing and have jumped in at the deep end with all grain and Grainfather. I hope such an early post of a new topic does not break etiquette. So far, I have one brew bottled and another in secondary Ferment, but they are looking promis...

Re: Crossmyloof yeast
Many thanks to Wolfenrook. The suggestions and advice are much appreciated, I have invested in several Mangrove Jack’s dried yeast packets yesterday, as advised, in preparation for my next few brews. I will, indeed, plan to brew the same recipe, but ferment with different yeasts and taste the same r...

Re: Crossmyloof yeast
As a newbie who has just jumped in at the deep end, all grain with grainfather, with my 2nd ever batch in the FV now, I have been really impressed with the rapidity and vigour of the primary ferment with Crossmyloof yeast. The fear of stuck ferments, poor attenuation and other woes due to the yeast ...
