Re: Paulaner Hefe-Weissbier Clone?

I will use liquid yeast, however still a little confused about converting the Extract to AG. 1 lb Pale Malt 5 lb Wheat Malt 4oz of munich malt. Keep hops as is. Steep grains at the higher end to retain swe...

Paulaner Hefe-Weissbier Clone?
Hello, After a break from HB about 2 months I am looking for a new recipe. I have just returned from Cologne and now have a love for Geffal Kolsch and Paulaner Hefe-Weissbier. I have done a search for recipes for both and there seems to be quite a lot of info for Kolsch. I just need to read through ...

Re: Hop Growing 2010
My fuggles have gone crazy! With about 30 shoots, 10 or so which are just under a foot long! Goldings not quite so busy but has 20 shoots, a couple of which are about a foot. they are both in their 2nd year, last year I only let 3 vines grow, should I do the same again? Seems a shame to cut most of ...

Re: OK to bottle?
Thanks for the response, I'm moving about 2 metres, from the conditioning fridge to the other side of the shed. I am trying to get a new brew on, however I'm working on the controller to keep the fridge at certain temps before I do a new brew. I tried to finish it last year but always ended up just ...

Re: OK to bottle?
Ok, no worries, I'll keep it in the barrel.
What about moving it, can I move it then leave for 48 hours to settle?
Also once you take the 1st pint how long to consume the rest of the barrel?

OK to bottle?
I've got a brew ready to drink in a barrel.
This is the 2nd ferm ves. I.e I transferred from prim ves after 10 days then left in barrel to condition.
Am I ok bottle it rather than drink from the barrel or should I leave it in the barrel.
Has been conditioning for 6 weeks.
Thanks.

Re: Hop Growing 2010
I think mines started to shoot late Nov!
Anyway, is now a good time to transplant hops?
I have 3 in tubs that I want move to the allotment.
As they are dormant I assume now is the best time?

Re: Overprimed
Fermentation seemed to complete. i.e low fonal gravitiy.
However, I think that it may have been the chocolate that I added to the boil that has caused this over prime.

Overprimed
As the title states.
Choccy stout, primed with a small amount of sugar, just popped a bottle and same carbonation as fizz!
It's been in a shed for the past month as well!
Anyway to sort this out, as I have 20+ bottles like this.
Maybe uncapp all of them then re cap?

Re: Coffee!
My grinder uses a spinning blade.
By pulsing it means the temperature generated chopping the beans does not get too hight which can cause bitterness.
