Re: Sharp's Yeast
Any evidence to back that up?SamT wrote:You do realise that the dried yeast in the Coopers kits is bakers yeast, right?
Not exactly what I'd advise using.

Re: coopers toucan lager?
i thought that too, i checked the temperature with two thermometers, and i checked the hydrometer in 20C RO water where it was reading 1.000 so i guess 10.70 is definitely the OG. Ace, i was just worried the yeast wouldnt do well in that high an OG and result in wasted beer. i'm not worried about th...

Re: coopers toucan lager?

Re: coopers toucan lager?
If nobody else has given it a go, I might as well.
I'll use the yeast from the euro lager as that's a lager yeast, and the other is an ale yeast. I've got a jar of h&b malt extract here too, so I'll bung that in for good measure.
Hopefully it makes a reasonable lager.

coopers toucan lager?
I've got some free time and fancy getting a brew on. As i'm mostly packed for moving house, I can't locate my cans of LME, only the cans containing cooopers aussie lager and coopers euro lager. I know combining kits is possible, and can result in a very drinkable beer. does making these two cans as ...

Re: Newbie Fridge questions...
as I've just done exactly this today I'll tell you how i did it I bought an ATC800+ from ebay and a box large enough to hold it from maplin. There are ready made controllers if you're not sure of how to wire things the ATC800 and a tube heater is all you need to heat and cool (other than the fridge)...

brew fridge
I decided, since I can't brew at the moment for various reasons, and I had a long weekend, it was time i made a brew fridge. So, a quick look on ebay later, I had an ATC800+ controller, and after a quick look on gumtree i had a functional fridge. My afternoon resulted in a shiny upgrade to my brewin...

Re: So, who's brewing what over Easter?

Coopers Australian pale ale goes down a treat with every lager drinker I know. One friend started brewing his own purely for the apa.

Re: tempting fate
I'm brewing about 18 and its spewing. It may spew more at higher temperature though. And this was brewed to under 20l in a 25l bin. If I make it again it'll be in a 33l bin
