Re: Boiler Power Control

What do you mean by 'I believed that one simply limited voltage'? I was reading about some types of SSR recently, it seems there's quite a few different types. http://www.crydom.com/en/tech/newsletters/solid%20statements%20-%20ssrs%20switching%20types.pdf Some of which seem to be: * Zero crossing, s...

Nice, that's a lot of power in those lights! :)

Re: storage life?

Sorry, Parts per billion of dissolved oxygen. The graph shows close to 0 ppb of dissolved oxygen with their fancy active/passive oxygen scavenging crown top lining. But around 1500ppb with a 'normal' crown top as far as I understand after a year. For canning I've heard of figures around 20ppb dissol...

Re: storage life?

I'd have thought close to 0ppb vs >1600 ppb DO would give a noticeably difference oxidation taste

Re: storage life?

Re. bottles I found this interesting - https://dm.henkel-dam.com/is/content/he ... ger_WEBpdf regarding oxygen ingress from a crown top.

For curiosity I wouldn't mind getting some different types of crown tops, to see how the taste of beer is affected over years.

Re: Wago connector under very high current (video)

Nice video, I was actually contemplating getting one of the wago clones (in a type in which I don't think Wago make themselves):

For a lighting project, not any more heh!

Re: 70% off top end stainless

Out of interest, anyone bought any of those?

Do liquidation companies ship things, or do you have to collect them yourself?

Re: Keg lid with hook

Cheers!

I tried using duct tape before to attach fishing line to the hop holder to lid, which I kind of want to avoid doing again, as it didn't seem to like the cold/damp condition.

Keg lid with hook

Has anyone seen a corny keg lid with hook on the inside recently in the UK?

(To attach a stainless pipe thing to put hops etc. in)

I bought one from fleabay, but the seller just messaged me to say they don't have ones with the hook on.

Re: Oak aging?

Oooh cool!

We've got a damson tree, but most of the damsons have gone into gin. I wanted to pick more which are all very high up
and bought https://www.raymears.com/Bushcraft_Prod ... ry-Picker/ and lashed to a rod, but that
didn't work too well heh.

Re: Oak aging?

I ended up getting some oak cubes from - https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/oak-whiskey-barrel-chunks-500g Just wondering if anyone has used those particular ones, and has advice re. how much to use and for roughly how long? I have a stainless mesh to put the cubes in and just ordered a lid wit...

Re: Smoked Malts

Out of interest, are you going to make a 100% smoked malt, rauchbier?

I really want to try making one some time, as I love Schlenkerla.
