I use the micromatic compact regulators. No issues with them, work very well and easy to set pressure. The graduations seem accurate enough.
Had them off eBay new. Keep an eye out, they appear from time to time. Paid about £10 - £15 each.

Same here. No problems at all with these. Nice lock nut included too.guypettigrew wrote:For the last few years I've been using two of these from Angel Home Brew in my boiler. No problems at all.

I cut a hole in the side for all the lines. I keep the gas bottle on the outside.

Re: First lager, need a few pointers
I tend to raise the temp after 5 days to make sure it clears up. The sulfur smell is normal. You know you're making proper lager when you smell it!

Re: Should I harvest now, or dump
Looks enough for half a dozen starters to me.
In the past I've saved W34-70 slurry and stored it in a few 500ml bottles. I re-pitched direct without doing a starter. Had good results!

Hotpoint RLA undercounter. There are a couple of slightly different model numbers.

Got mine started Thurs night and took until Sunday morning to show proper activity. Put it down to the cooler temps this time of year.

Re: Cooler to house kegs
Maybe a cooler box and some ice packs will do you. That will probably work quite well.

Re: Cooler to house kegs
My compromise was a large thermos flask. I fill it from the garage and it's enough for an evening. Keeps drinks hot and keeps drinks cool
Holds over a litre. About 1.5L

I was looking at that malt for BIAB, so a stuck mash shouldn't be a problem.

Yep it will work, it works quite well. In my last lager I used 50% pills and 50% MO.
