I think you are right, Craig now I think about it. I will have upscaled it for my 27L brew length which will explain the slight incr...

Re: Looking for your Brown Ale recipe suggestions

Here's one for SS Nut Brown that I have in BeerSmith. Can't remember where it came from now.

I'm sure any Yorkshire style yeast will do a good job.

Re: Brewing liquor question

Hi Dave, Thanks for your reply. My base water from the tap is: Ca: 6.25 Mg: 2.35 Na: 6.85 S04: 19.90 Cl: 9.2 Bicarbonate (HCO3): 6.7 I need to add acid as the volume of liquor is 30l and the amount of malt is say 4.5kg. Plugging the numbers in brun water always requires a bit of acid, even with roa...

Re: Brewing liquor question

Hi everyone, I use Brun water to calculate my water profiles. As I use a Braumeister I use much higher liquor to grist than a 3v system. My water (Im on a spring) is basically pretty much RO water. Its alkalinity (HCO3) is 6.7. Other salts are very low too. Even though my alkalinity is very low, as...

Re: Worthington White Shield...

When I was a moderator in another forum I contacted Graham to see if he had any objection to his recipes being published on the forum. Providing it was not for gain or fame he had no objection. If the Worcesterhopshop are selling the recipes as kits I would say that is gain. Just a same he is no lo...

Re: Worthington White Shield...

HI. Any chance you could post the recipe please? I'm not sure I can, copyright would prevent this going out on the www. It was from GWs 3rd edition. That said, I know Worcesterhopshop sell all grain kits based on his recipes. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk When I was a moderator in another for...

Says on that last one coppers plastic coated ??
I think it means the coil is wrapped in plastic and colour coded for use with gas or water supplies.

Thanks Dave, how about with the barb attachment removed, it looks like it is removable.
Can't really help there except to say that if it's a common type of ball valve it's likely to be 0.5" BSP. Normski should be able to tell.

What size thread is on the outlet tape? Would it take a camloc like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263644932126 , the Type A 1/2”.
It looks like a barb rather than thread, so you could attach a camlock via a short length of silicone tube.

Re: Trouble Getting Past Hot Break

It is also possible that some of the element segments have blown. From my recollection of the old Burcos their elements are made up from a number of small segments. Can't remember if they are connected in series or parallel. If in series then if one goes you'll get no heat at all. But if in parallel...

Re: Cheap One Pot Klarstein

The first thing I notice is there is no RIMS, which is a significant draw back. No step Mash feature either, which is less significant. Rims ? on a one pot system. I thought it had a separate grain basket. Was I looking at the wrong picture? They're all called one pot systems, BM, GF whatever. As S...

Re: Salifert KH / Alkalinity test kit

Thanks again for the responses. I will have a go tomorrow with your suggestion. Not done much research, but would using RO water help me with my situation. Starting with a blank slate and build my own water profile? What you could do as an alternative to the above suggestion is add a proportion of ...
