Re: Who really likes there 3 Vessel system and why
Personally, I cant see any more work in 3V than a 2V - your HLT should cause you no pain whatsoever, being filled with nice, clean hot water. Not having to share a boiler/HLT however is a major plus in my eyes. I often do 2 brews at a time as i can get 2 FV's in my Fridge , so need 3 vessels, While...

After getting frustrated with the amount of bottle that need washing for a batch. Over a few pints the dream of a bottle washer was designed. After many evenings work we have got something which we think works. Parts:- 15mm copper tube (left overs from building project) 22mm copper tube (left overs ...

Re: Who really likes there 3 Vessel system and why
From Day one i've just loved the fun of making beer (and drinking it) and the science behind how its all done. I brew with a few friends and we share the ingredients costs and share the results. I also get satification when people like what we've made too. I like the slow pace you need to take, I ha...

Re: Pot Sizes
I have a 45L mash tun, a 50L boiler and a 33L HLT. I brew 30L batches as that just fits in a 33L FV and its the most I can lift on my own to get the FV into the fermenting fridge. the most i've ever filled is my mash tun just over half full and i've never needed more than 33L in my HLT, and my boile...

Re: Bottle capper
I recently got given one of these http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/acatalog/Automatic_Bench_crown_capper.html#.Voonyh6TUVI and very nice it is too. Previously I was using a black two-armed capper. The new one allows one-handed bottling and makes bottling less of a chore. Some will also do 29mm c...

Re: Igloo Ice Cube 48 qt internal dimensions?
I've not had any problems with it the recessed bit at the bottem was perfect to fit a drain/tap to and means i have very little deadspace so get almost everything out. I wrap a couple of towels over the top. Its worked well with all sizes of grain bail i put in. I brew a 30L batch and always been ab...

5 Hop Lager / Hogstar Recipe wanted
Hi, Have tried a few of these new "craft lagers" I really want to have a go at brewing something similar, I have drunk and enjoyed the M&S 5 hop lager which is made by hogsback so i guess the same as the hogstar lager. All i know is that its got 5 hops in but i can't work out which ones. Does anyone...

Re: beers software recommendation please
I started off using beerengine, very easy to use and quick to get going with. I have just upgraded to beersmith, however getting the equipment profile right seems to be taking some time, i did 2 brews yesterday and one was 5l short and the 2nd was 3l over what I was expecting. I managed to buy beers...
