Well, I bought a bottle of Orval, enjoyed it then made a starter from the dregs. It's been added to the barley wine now.

Hoping the other bits finally arrive today so that I can blank off the screw cap / lid. Ordered 7 days ago. Strikes have slowed things up big time.

Right... settled on wing nuts. Should be able to grip those between 2 fingers inside the keg while turning the outside nut with a spanner. Hopefully I've ordered the right size. Went for M12.

No joy. However, have just discovered the world of locking washers. Will look into that.

Update. I used a bit of Gorilla weld on the inside nut. Just made everything hand tight to create a bond between the nut and the keg. Don't think Gorilla Weld bonds well to polyethylene but worth a shot. Watch this space!

I don't think I could brew from kits as I get a bit edgy if I spot my 25Kg sack getting low. I panic-buy my next six month's supply of grain and hops and feel a lot calmer.

Trillions looks amazing. Never heard of it!

I already ordered some bits to seal the existing cap. Black dip pipe will be completely removed and (hopefully) after an o ring and a 43mm acrylic disc later, I should have a seal. Will update.

Pressure sprayer arrived. I quickly got rid of the pump etc. Happy with it so far. Really sturdy. Can handle up to 40PSI Only thing I don't like is that black bit that has to go inside.
