Re: Jaipur Recipe from IPA book
I have a jaipur junior recipe I'd share if anyone wanted it? its only 4% but that is how I like them. Some people think its an odd hop bill but the only Jim's member to taste it (Spikesdad) said it was spot on. I'd certainly be interested in a session strength version if you're kind enough to share...

Re: Brewing a Hefeweizen with my Speidel Braumeister
Nice post!! All looking very smooth. The BM really does seem to stop a lot of piddling about and inconsistency too; really must get my build under way! BTW, I'm a little worried about the starsan pic, which makes it look quite milky - I can't recall if you're one of those that can get it going milk...

Re: Brewing a Hefeweizen with my Speidel Braumeister
Very interesting for another BM brewer =D> As you're tilting the BM off the table edge be careful that the control unit does not take the weight. I use a hop spider and a hop bag but really like your solution - can you give some details on your dip tube set up please? Sizes, where to get one, etc. ...

Re: Brewing a Hefeweizen with my Speidel Braumeister
It certainly makes the mashing process at lot less stressful, especially stepped mash's, but there's still plenty of room to cock up a brew daybarney wrote:Thats hardly brewing that mate, you dont have to do nowt.

Brewing a Hefeweizen with my Speidel Braumeister
My first attempt at posting a brew day so please be kind to me :) The recipe is from Jamil's book, 50/50 Pils malt/wheat malt with Hallertau for 60 mins bittering and WPL300 for the yeasties. This is a bit piccy heavy. I used a 5 step mash with this as I wanted to try a ferulic acid rest as describe...

Re: STC-1000 Not running fridge query
Is the 'cool' light flashing ?
Have you left it switched on for longer than 3 mins ?
First I set mine up I thought the same as you, I then re read the instructions and found that it was in 'compressor delay' for 3 mins before it switched on the fridge.

In Beersmith 2 Honey is listed in with the grains so you can add that to your recipe to get a more accurate ABV%

Re: Recirculation rate - HERMS/RIMS
I use a Brupaks enamel MT/boiler along with a Totton pump and a PID as my RIMS system. A Brupaks wire rack is placed in the MT which rests on the back nut of the tap and I use a Brupaks grain bag. I'm sorry about the quality but here are a couple of quick photo's I took as I left for work this morni...
