Grapefruit extract
Malt Miller are now selling cold pressed grapefruit extract. This is how at least one of the big UK "craft" breweries are getting that big fruit flavour in their beer. http://themaltmiller.co.uk/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=1621 I received a sample from Rob and have it on tap now at home... I won...

Re: Kegging and low consumption
I never cleaned my lines while they were attached to a keg. Once a keg was empty then I would clean the lines and tap thoroughly ready for the next time. As far as i can make out the beer lines are just an extension of the inside of the keg, it's all sealed and airtight, I can't see the problem. So...

Re: Beer Gun or counter pressure filler
You can use it with glass if you cut a washer down and accept the risk of filling glass under pressure (although you should be using the same as it is carbonated at anyway). I did see that above or in another thread. Do you need to switch washers in and out depending on the bottle being used? Is th...

Re: Beer Gun or counter pressure filler
I've been trying to decide between a beer gun or a counter pressure filler for a while and have in the past given up deciding as both have their drawbacks. I have crusader kegs for the vast majority of my beer. I bottle condition the occasional batch (big stouts or batches for a present) using a wan...

Re: Mash night before boil
I always do overnight mashes and haven't had any issues with it. Wrap her up and crack on the next morning. I was all cleaned up by 11:30am on my last brew day. Do you measure your FG's and if so how do they usually come out?? I used to do overnight mashes, but I found that the wort attenuated 2-4 ...

Re: CO2 Extract
What is the advantage of this extract? Is it just that it's cheaper per IBU? Doesn't seem worth it in home brew quantities so what am I missing? A brewer from Beavertown told me; "we find it gives a really clean bitterness, which is ideal for high abv brews- you can avoid that vegetal note you some...

Yes, clever way to calculate the SG isn't it.
If it wasn't for the likely customs charges and the P&P I'd be tempted...

Brewometer
A bit expensive for just gravity and temp readings but how handy would it be to have instant gravity readings with no need to open the fermenter.

Re: CO2 Extract
Funnily enough I just emailed Rob at the Malt Miller to ask if he'd ever considered doing this in home brew quantities. No reply yet. I had a good look around a while ago, you can get it in the US and NZ but not there. I just came back from NZ and brought back three 5ml syringes of it. Looks well do...
