Re: Grainfather fermenter very slow heating

without any loses a 30 watt heater is going to take around 3 hours to raise 24 liters of water by 3c,however
Sure, its cold in my garage, about 9C
so your going to be loosing a far bit trying to also heat up the surrounding air.

Re: Klarstein Mundschenk power settings

The control for the relays are two lines direct from the controller,
Have you traced out the power side of the relays? my guess is the relays are selecting individual elements, and something else is doing the power control,

I'd be looking for a triac/thyristor on the control board.

Re: Brew Pub Shed Build

if your going to be digging a trench for your mains supply you might as well chuck in a length of blue poly pipe for your water as well.also what are you doing for drainage?

Re: Solar Pump to solve a problem?

cheapskate option would be a pipe from the tap pushed down into the fermenter so its lower than the tap and let physics do the work

Presumably, if English ale tasted as bad as American ale, A nice example of the ‘fallacy of incomplete evidence’. Or ‘cherry picking’ as it’s known generally comes to mind for some reason.Like everything theirs good and bad, of course your welcome to stick with john smiths,id rather have one of the...

our branding has not been good enough. We need to recapture the consumer.”
How about you reintroduce the slightly sulphurous taste that made pedigree so distinctive ,todays offering is bland piss water.

Re: Are These Brown Floaters Normal?

when i used to bottle, for 40 pints id use 100g sugar mixed with 100ml boiling water, then using a 5ml syringe squirt a full syringe full of the mix into each bottle,if you want 5g of sugar use 200g sugar to 200 ml water and a 10ml syringe.

Re: Nottingham Yeast query

The IPA is fermenting steadily but on Sunday the Black Sheep started to burst thru' the bubble trap.
get rid of the bubble trap, you dont need it,the yeast layer on top of the beer keeps the nastys out .with an airlock(bubble trap) all your doing is restricting the pressure from escaping.

Re: Long Beer Lines

I guess the temperatue issue is insurmountable.
Do as the pubs do and install a python, you'll need to add a pump and chiller but you'll have cool beer lines
