Re: Help pressure testing a budget barrel. [Sheffield]
Careful how you pressure test a barrel mate..... Gas tends to be on the explosive side if it fails.... best use a liquid method as this tends to be less explosive ... read up on hydrostatic testing although this tends to be more for gas cylinders but similar principle

Re: Newbie pressure barrel issue
Hi, initially being at 1.012 your fermentation wasn't stuck, it was finished. If it had stopped at 1.020 then you have a problem, but anything below about 1.016 is probably OK for beer. It does depend on the beer, but I wouldn't worry about being only 3 points off target, thats fairly normal. Decis...

Re: Turbo Cider Recipes, Methods and Taste Collection.
I was planning on using pectalose, but the clearness was only for the benefit of others. Personally, I don't mind what it looks like, so I decided against it. The lumps of Apple are going though. It's a drink, not a meal. Cheers for the tip about doing it in a bag though! You could always use a fun...

Re: Cornikeg suppliers?
Thanks mooj... From that info, instead of buying Corneys off eVil-bay, it might be wiser to buy from candirect instead as refurbs are close to £46 posted from Germany. Would that incur a customs charge at this end I wonder?

Re: Perry, Pear Cider
Well I gave VP's recipe a go (minus the pears) using Lidl's pear nectar..... The damn things seem to have died and are as murky as hell.... I mean the pulp is in suspension in the DJ's and there's no sign of it settling out.... WTH went wrong I ask myself??? Plenty of sugar added to suppliment the s...

Re: Perry, Pear Cider
Hi guys... having read this thread from beginning to end, I'm now itching to give it a go being a big cider/perry lover but I was wondering something.... Would using whole fruit (ie fresh pears) be as good, skins n all as there should be natural yeasts on/in the skins itself and still using the pear...
