Re: Safety advice for fermentation fridge

I don't understand why it needed to be this complicated. Surely you have a heater of your choice attached to the heat side of the STC and the mains plug of the fridge attached to the cool side of the STC. No internal modifications required?! Or am I missing something?

Re: Fridge for cornies

You can nearly always utilise the drain point at the bottom back of the fridge for inputting the gas. If the hole isn't big enough you can easily and safely expand it without worry (certainly on Beko fridges I've done anyway) as they are generally located in a plastic area so going through with a dr...

Anyone tried doubling 20L Braumeister volume like this?

https://forum.braumeisters.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=703 Anyone tried the above method, mashing twice using 2x 4kg grain and having a boil around 40l in a Braumeister 20? I've doubled up on output before but done a concentrated mash and boil and then diluted down as you would if you were extract brewi...

Re: Grade A corni kegs, 45 each.

makes a heck of a difference. I bought three refurbished ones from Keg Kingdom and had to send them back. They looked really lovely but my fridges fit in four of the tall thin normal corny kegs. Could only get two in with the shorter ones. No good at all.

Re: Loweswater gold

I was very sorry too. I used to adore this beer when I visited the lake district and seek it out as often as possible. I still find it an enjoyable pint but it's a shadow of what it was. I haven't tried your recipe I'm afraid. I'd like to but I'm not managing to brew beer very often at all at the mo...

Re: Black Mould? on the top sides of the fermenter

Seems to be a very common issue. I’ve got another brew in there now so it will be interesting to see what happens..

Black Mould? on the top sides of the fermenter

Just used my SS Brewtech Brewbucket for the first time. When I opened the lid to transfer the wort I noticed that on the top sides of the fermenter where the scum from the fermentation collects in a brownish colour, the edges were actually black. Rubbing my finger around that area, it came back blac...

Re: Ordered a Brewie! Have any good recepies?

I've seen these things being promoted for a while now. I honestly think that if you can't be bothered with the effort of using a Braumeister or Grainfather type machine then why would you bother doing homebrew? Further, small quantities are labour intensive with just the cleaning in comparison to a ...

Re: BM20 Table/Stand Suggestions

They are excellent tables for BBQ's etc but I don't know how they would cope with any amount of direct heat. A 60x60 cm stainless catering table will dissemble really easily, although you would need another surface for bits and pieces. The feet of the Braumeister don't get particularly hot so it is...

Re: Help - plug issues 20l braumeister

Regarding the dodgy socket You've probably not got very good contact between plug and socket. Possibly the socket is old and the contacts are dulled, worn or maybe the wiring behind is not making good contact with the socket. Try a different socket and fix the offending socket by putting a new good ...

Re: Brewing for a wedding

I haven't read the thread but I did do what you are planning to do two years ago.. My solution was buy 20 or so corny kegs. Convert two fridges to kegerators, each kegarator held 4 corny kegs. Each kegerator had two taps mounted on the front of the fridge with a drip tray underneath. The kegs that d...

Re: Galaxy Recipes

I was keeping quiet as I don't have expert knowledge about bittering hops but I have to say, I always understood and have experienced that the qualities of Chinook do shine through even when it is used as a bittering hop. The bitterness it imparts has a character that I feel is specific to Chinook. ...

Re: Galaxy Recipes

Orlando thanks for the suggestion regarding Chinook. I do find that Chinook stamps its own footprint on a beer even if only a little is used for bittering so I'll probably leave it out this time. I've got lots of Cascade knocking around and I don't mind using one full 100g pack of Galaxy for one bre...
