A better spunding valve?
I have had two of this type spunding valves that I have used for a few years now, however, I have always found them really difficult to set just right. The pressure adjustment is just not granular or accurate enough to set to a predicatable pressure and they regularly get stuck in the open or closed...

Re: Brew Pub Shed Build
That's the cladding, and the exterior, completed. I haven't done anything on the inside yet but have put a fridge, a temporary bar counter and some taps in because the weather is so nice at the moment that it is in demand already

Re: Lager and pressure fermentation questions/experiment
Thanks for the clarifications. I have been fermenting under pressure for a while but pitch on the cool side and only ramp up the temperature once the pressure has build naturally. When I saw your comment I thought I may have missed something else. There is a podcast somewhere on The Brewing Network...

Re: Lager and pressure fermentation questions/experiment
I think it matters based on temperature. Yeast metabolism, specifically. If pitching cold, let pressure build up ‘naturally’ to about 15psi, before raising temperature. If pitching warm, apply about 15psi straight away. Under ‘normal’ low pressure conditions increasing temperature risks shifting ye...

Apologies for the delay on this but here is the presentation, I changed it to image files as I didn't want to open up PDF/PPT uploads. Let me know if you have any issues viewing it. Re: Brew Pub Shed Build
I would advise a floor surface which can cope with getting wet I have thought about this. I've been brewing in my garage for years so have a fairly good idea of the amount of spillage that I create. I am planning to install a large shower tray which drains to the exterior and will confine all my we...

The interior as it looks at the moment. The electrician will be in this week to do the first fix and then I can start the insulation and plasterboarding. The floors are scorched scaffold boards.

Re: Brew Pub Shed Build
The plywood skin is complete. It feels like it's starting to take shape now :D S_20210620_163644.jpg Awesome build, really coming together nicely. Just been out to my plain boring shed to tell it to pull its socks up. Are those hinges on the pub side window so it'll fully open? Yes, the window swin...

Re: Brew Pub Shed Build
Looking really good. Best of luck with the rest of the build. What's your plan for steam extraction from your brewery? Guy I brew on a Grainfather now. I have an old shower tray that the GF will sit in while brewing; above that will be a shelf for the HLT; above that will be an old cooker hood to e...

Re: Brew Pub Shed Build
if your going to be digging a trench for your mains supply you might as well chuck in a length of blue poly pipe for your water as well.also what are you doing for drainage? Unfortunately the electric supply has to come from the opposite end of the house as the water supply. The route for the water...

Re: Brew Pub Shed Build
.... Electrics installed (you can never have enough power points!), water connected (I installed a small electric handwash unit) .... I was thinking about some sort of electric hot water unit too. What type did you get? Your shed looks great! I am going to leave mine au naturale but have been ponde...

The build so far: I will update this post with any new pics as I go along, for those that don't want to read through the entire thread. https://www.jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/download/file.php?id=6458 Foundations: the smaller slab on the left is where an old shed was located and will be the brewery.
