The Range MYO Red wine
Hi all Has anyone made the Make Your Own red wine kit from the range? I usually buy in the£30-40 bracket but am thinking of giving these a go. I'm not particularly bothered that they are a lighter bodied wine, it's more a flavour thing for me. So as long as they taste ok I'll probably get one on. Th...

Re: Syphon tube
Ahhhhhh, gotcha. Simple but effective. By the look of them they will take different sizes of tube too.
Did you get yours from there or from wish?

Re: Syphon tube
Two clips? Now I'm confused
I just use one of these
By eck, that's a big picture. Been a while since I've attached one, forgotten how big they could look.
Anyway the tube just bends over the top of this. Hope that's eased your pain?

Re: Syphon tube
Excuse my stupidity but how would something like that stay in place with me using a bucket clip? Obviously it would or the suggestion wouldn't be made but I can't picture it as the rigid pipe currently runs through the lower part of the clip inside the bucket then the tube bends over the top of that...

Re: Syphon tube
If ever I need to bend silicone tubing through 180 degrees I feed it through a 'U' bend bit of plumber's piping. Works a treat and makes it easy to hook the tubing onto the edge of a bucket or whatever you want! Guy I'm thinking out loud now but wouldn't it still collapse inside the u bend? Like yo...

Re: Syphon tube
I guess that depends on the wall thickness, it is quite variable depending upon what you get. If I ever have to siphon I tend to use a cane for that bit. I was thinking more about the bit attached to the tip of the cane as it bends down over the top of the bucket. It's not expensive so I'll get som...

Re: Syphon tube
Does it collapse when bent? I'm thinking about when it's attached to the bucket clip and bends over the top of the bucket

Hi All
I think it's time to get some new tubing. So, what are the benefits of silicone tube over my existing pvc? My old stuff has got rather stained and although it doesn't seem so be causing any issues I think the time has come to get some new stuff.
Thoughts?

Re: What One-Pot Systems do y'all use
The main issue is the bonded elements so isn't that also true of the grainfather?
I must admit that the BM is a really good piece of kit but the price, no matter how good the machine is, will put people off purchase

Just had a quick Google. The maximum load on a single socket is 3000w

Re: What One-Pot Systems do y'all use
Just looked at the brewolution and it has the usual 2500w elements so you should be ok there. Not sure about the other as it has a 3000w

Re: What One-Pot Systems do y'all use
Take into account that the bigger systems may have stronger heating elements and require more power than a std 13a socket can safely provide
