Re: Would a salty gose in a corny cause corrosion problems?

When I worked at Findus in Longbenton, we pumped sauces through 316 that would have had a higher levels of salt than that and never had a problem.

I'd have thought the keg walls would be fine, but I'd be extra vigilant in checking the fittings; they might not all be the same grade.

Re: NBS no rinse stuff

It's just Malt Miller's own brand StarSan. You will still need to clean the bottles, but you use this for sanitising them. I don't have a bottle tree either, but I use it in one of those pumpy bottle washer things, shake the dregs out and bottle. As everyone states... DON'T FEAR THE FOAM.!

Re: Any groups in or around the Preston area?

Cool, sorry I didn't notice these replies. As for venue... There's The New Continental that always has a good selection of bottled beers and draught stuff (cask and keg), but it is a bit out of the way at the far end of Miller Park. There's a new place called The Guild Ale House up by the bus statio...

Re: My trial brew

I'm thinking of scaling up a touch so I can do 15l batches of the stuff I've already made and really like, but I'm also thinking of going back-over and making some demijohn size batches so I can try out bigger hop hits and higher IBU brews. I reckon I could do a 5l full volume BIAB now in about 2 h...

Re: How does this APA recipe look?

Cheers Clibit. I've actually changed the ratios a little bit so the Ahtanum doesn't get lost. Using it at about 2:1 with the Mosaic and will probably dry-hop with about 20g of the Ahtanum as well. I want this to be the main hop in this brew, but still with some complexity to it. It's about on target...

Ok, so there seems to be about 7 of us on here, theres another guy on another forum who is also interested, plus there may be a couple of people who are part of a Facebook group who might also be interested. If we were to arrange a meet up in a pub somewhere that is ok with us swapping a few bottles...

How does this APA recipe look?

OK gents, looking at doing this in the next couple of weeks and want a bit of opinion on it. Do you reckon ahtanum and mosaic will go together ok or will the mosaic drown the ahtanum a bit? Also, thinking of adding a third hop into the mix... maybe some nelson sauvin, but wasn't sure if that would g...
