Re: electric hob and element at same time?

On the assumption that your cooker is electric and on it's own circuit then this should be fine. I wouldn't combine a gas hob with an electric element as the outside of the pan would probably get too hot from the flames, and you might melt the back of the element or the cables. A 3KW element is plen...

Re: Corny kegs vs Crusader

No name plate or colour seems sensible to me, I never had mine painted or a name plate as I may decide to sell them one day and I think that will be easier without any markings on them.

I have never known Starsan go brown, that is strange indeed. I don't think I would trust it.

Re: New Speidel fermenter

As much as i like the Speidel fermenter and all the conicals there are around now i think for me they take up too much space. I'm trying to keep the brewery as compact as possible so want to sit above a under counter fridge/kegerator. I was originally thinking of using a thermopot with a immersion ...

Re: How do combI boilers work

I do my alkalinity test with cold water out of the cold tap. I fill my Braumeister with water out of the combi boiler, then treat with the required amount of acid, I rarely use CRS these days, normally Sulphuric Acid but the principal is the same. I then mash in within a few minutes. I've been heati...

Re: Help attaching regulator to bottle...

That looks about right to me. There should be a washer between the bottle and the regulator which creates the seal. Then you just put them together and tighten the nut.

Agree with other that Hot Water out of the Combi is an excellent way to heat your strike water. Thats what I do all the time.

Re: Thoughts on these hops

The yeast is a derivative of the Ridleys strain, how close it is seems a closely guarded secret. My understanding is Crouch Vale got their yeast from Ridleys many years ago and Wibblers use the Crouch Vale yeast. The fact that Ridleys is now owned by Greed King means that the yeast is not officially...

I am considering keeping it.

The thing is, it's too big for my brew fridge

Re: How much time does it save?

I can fit a brew in while I am WFH on a Braumeister. For that alone I think it was a worthwhile investment as I don't have to brew at weekends.

Re: Kegerator (ish) project / gas line into fridge

I haven't lined my holes with anything, the holes are just the right size to get the line through with a tight fit.
