Lots of microbreweries use S-04.

Re: where to buy cheapest plastic food grade cubes

As above, check with local breweries, I've seen them offered for free locally.

Re: Brupaks mash tum drum tap threads jumping

I used to use that style of tap in fermenters and my mash tun. But I got fed up with them failing and so switched to a lever tap style which seem much more reliable. This is the type I now use in my fermenters. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Water-Butt-Tap-Fits-Sankey-Ward-Waterbutts-Homebrew-Beer-Barrel...

Perhaps get a few initially and see how you get on with them ? (I know postage makes smaller orders a bit pricey but better than committing £100 to something you might not like).

Re: JB weld

My original thread ! :)

I was originally asking about using Waterweld as a seal for the deck drain, I used a cork washer in the end.

I also had to repair a slight tear on the inside of the tun and for that I went with "normal" JB weld and the repair is as good today as it was back then.

Re: New BIAB one pot system

Sounds interesting, Andy. I'm especially looking forward to seeing the control unit. Just one minor thought, if the plan is to heat whilst the grain is in, some kind of rack or stand to keep the bag and grain from contact with the element could be worth consideration (unless the wine heater already...

New BIAB one pot system

I've recently started putting together a small one pot system for my brother. It's using a Tchibo Mulled Wine heater (very similar to the old Lidl jam/mulled wine vessels used on here), 29L capacity with a integral 1800W plate heater. The plan is to leave the pot largely alone, can't start drilling ...

Re: The Bread Maker

OOOOER Andy?? i was under the impression that Laels system is based on Matho's code with only a few tweaks?? Tho i am only basing that on an Ardbir*'s Champions slating of the Lael controller in here or a similar site. i had better head off to the aussie brewer site and wade through the posts for t...

Re: The Bread Maker

Tbh ive not even downloaded the s/w and had a peek at it yet, but Matho's original draught was very tidy elegant and concise with small easy to digest 'atomic' functions so im not anticipating the nightmare that brewtroller turned into.. (fingers crossed) EDIT** got a link to the s/w and i will che...

Re: ALVA brew controller

I don't have one but recently found their website and it has lots of useful info for anyone considering a one-pot system, with or without their controller.
