Re: Bit of a strange sediment problem ...

How long do you ferment for? I found that if you leave the beer in the fermenter for 14 days, you get very little sediment in the bottle.

Re: Cheap long lead thermometers

Aamcle - how easy is it to put those 2 together, is any fiddling with programs needed or is it plug-in-and-play?

Re: Curries

I have made the same curry virtually every Saturday night for years. Its a basic chicken one, but if you are feeling adventurous its pretty generic so we sometimes use beef, would like to try lamb but SWMBO don't like it. 1 chicken breast per person, cubed. (Or other meat) Oil enough to fry your oni...

Re: All grain Nettle ale

Goosefoot used to be abundant all over the local area and I read once that bit was a used in brewing beer in alden times. I always fancied trying it out but it seems to have largely disapeared.

Ditch you really do have a terrific way with words, and creating instant pictures in my head - ever thought of writing books or short stories? I'd buy that book.

Re: Who checks gravity

When I kit brewed, after the first couple of times I never bothered with hydrometer readings at any stage. Never really fussed about percentages, was after nice flavoured beer. Now I am starting out in AG though, I realise that its important to know your OG and FG to see if you have hit the targets ...

Re: beer glasses

I got two dimple pint glasses, very old skool looking, from my local ST Oswalds Hospice warehouse. They had 2 full size tabletop pool tables, all balls, cues and equipment for a tenner each and SWMBO wouldn't let me buy one, claiming we haven't enough room.

The Elvis Sandwich

Read a few times that Elvis had a favorite sandwich - one which might have hastened his death if truth be told. fascinated I looked it up online and decided to try one for myself, just to have eaten like the KING. Made one on Sunday following closely the recipe he liked, which was as follows. Two sl...
