Using a mini keg that I got for my birthday for the first time. I was very careful not to over prime, but it's coming out very very frothy. I've inserted the co cartridge and been careful not to pressurise it to much. What am I doing wrong, any tips?

Re: Sorry, still need some clarification with Stan San
One thing I will say, is that I treat it as one use, I.e. pour/ spray, shake, drain out . . . NEVER collect and reuse, that should be a golden rule for any sanitiser . . . Never, Ever, Reuse. So am I right is saying that the ideal base liquid is de-ionized water and if so where's the best place to ...

Ummm, thanks for the replies, sounding as if I need to chuck out and start again. Will def have to get some ph papers which as said are cheap enough.

Sorry, still need some clarification with Stan San
I know this has been talked about quite a few times before, but I'm still unsure about the effectiveness of a solution if it goes milky/cloudy. I usually use Ashbeck like a lot of people, but got a 5l Waitrose bottle of water which has a slightly higher pH. It went cloudy almost immediately. Some sa...

Re: Noob Mini Keg questions
I used Easy Kegs a bit, but they are a pain to clean, and the need to vent them reduces their shelf life once opened. If you are not sure about it, pick up one of those 5L kegs from your supermarket and try them out with your home brew. If you really want portable beer, the stainless mini kegs that...

Noob Mini Keg questions
Hi all I've been successfully bottling my beer for a few years now but thinking I'll put some beer into mini kegs. https://www.brewuk.co.uk/mini-keg-starter-kit.html Firstly, I've seen it quoted that the beer lasts 3 or 4 days. I'm likely to take one of these to large gatherings but also there will ...

Re: Floating Krausen!?!
Yes I use an inkbird for temp control in a fridge so a consistent temp isn't a problem. Should I drop the temp right down after fermentation has finished?

Re: Floating Krausen!?!
I wondered about rapid cooling. And Simon12, I probably do use slightly more protofloc than recommend, so that's an interesting thought and I must try using less. I'm wondering if anyone else has experience of this?

Quick question about pitching temps
One advantage with this hot weather is that bringing the wort to boiling is quicker. One down side though is cooling it to pitching temp. Today, because of time restraints I was forced to pitch an S-04 yeast at just over 26°. The packet says max 25, I'm I likely to have a problem? TIA mrboxpiff Sent...

Re: Floating Krausen!?!
Many thanks for your reply and advice. My experience is that more crud gets into the Syphon if it floats, so I may well try your scooping idea

Re: Floating Krausen!?!
Probs this has been discussed before, but my recent brews always seen to have this bready crust on the top of the wort in the fv. I think I'm right in calling it the Krausen, or something like that. It makes it a whole lot harder to Syphon off without sucking this lot up. Any comments or suggestion...
