Re: SEYMOUR LEGACY HOPPY WHEAT
Well the brew looks great..another question on the invert though. If a batch was made and left to cool would it be a rough equivalent of belgian candi ? Can any sugars be used ie molasses, golden syrup( tate and lyle comes to mind readily available in uk) treacle Its an interesting way of making cry...

Re: SEYMOUR LEGACY HOPPY WHEAT
Yumm ....... That's all. Surprised the invert didn't darken the overall brew more than is apparent though....it looked like tar!

Re: JOHN'S BLUE RIBBON STOUT
Always welcome Brother S! I like the steep, run off ,chill in fermentor idea. However when I do ag now I tend to no chill...time constraints more than anything else...really can't say its been detrimental to the beers as long as you're careful to not get too much break into the cube, and as I use a ...

Re: Kit Brewers Challenge....PLEASE READ THIS!
Well I don't faff about. WA esb on go as we speak a trifle cold but that's my fault...I was gagging after work Its a great beer, nice hiss, two finger head, smashing chestnut colour. I didn't get a huge hop aroma, but its there..again I blame the overchilling, and its becoming more prevalent as it w...

Re: Preparing a chill cube
Using a no chill cube____ if it was me I'd pour in some hot. Water and swill it around a bit just to get rid of the plasticky smell--- and there's no harm to using starsan prior to running hot wort into why not it isn't hard to do. But as above I'd give it a good shake to remove as much no rinse as ...

Re: Is it going well?
You've done better thann most with a wherry ....notorious for sticking at 1020. But I agree +1 with MB. The fast turn around advertised with kits is designed to get you buying another kit....yes it does work, but a little longer will result imo in a better beer

Re: Store cupboard
I do every kind of brewing dependant on time and can I be bothered ness! I've found the things I keep in stores are......hops. Seriously if you keep an eye on places like malt miller and worcester hop shop they always have hops up for clearance. God knows what to do with some of them!! And the same ...

Re: Post fermentation hop tea's?
Cracked one just now, bit early and still a bit green, but tasty . Hard to say aroma wise as I haven't used this hop combo before, so no direct comparison. What is perhaps worth mentioning is a possible improvement in head retention...or I might be brewing better!! In all honesty because my method(...

Re: Brewing has gone downhill!
Just wondering and throwing it out there.....what yeast are you using. Although dms seems most likely, as all above have said, I have found that using dry yeasts particularly old packs gives a vegetal sulphury tang to brews...yes I know that some do, but a few brews I've done with wilkos gervin and ...

Mods don't know where to post this feel free to move
Thought I'd check the response and feedback to this and your similar confessions
I've never used fuggles or goldings iirc, I get swayed by new fancy hop descriptions!!
Although vital was a mistake!!! Gross!
