Re: PID's and SSR's
I think the Sestos PIDs seem quite popular from skimming through a number of threads here, and they seem reasonably priced too.

Re: Regulators
Wow, that seems really cheap, I'm really intrigued if you could use that too.
One thing though, it doesn't say 'mixed gas'.
I bought one of these not too long ago http://www.micro-matic.co.uk/part-pid-1308566-17.html for my mixed gas tank.
But it wasn't cheap! (Around £80)

Re: Dry hopping tube
Yeah, I made a hop rocket/randalizer using an oily bits filter and you can really taste it.
(I used Citra) And it even tasted a bit too citrus-y too be honest

Re: Ball valves
I think it's brass as it's under brassware, I'd rather spend a little bit more to be honest and get stainless.

It's nitrous oxide used in cream whippers, aka 'laughing gas'.

Re: Making ginger beer
Cheers that makes a lot of sense, I hadn't thought about using a mulsin cloth for
the ginger.
It seems quite fascinating to me how the yeast and bacteria work together. Does it end up
being slightly sour because of the lactobacillus?

Re: Nitrogen
Nitrogen isn't absorbed as much as CO2 by the beer - so it makes the beer less fizzy than pure CO2.
With nitrogen + CO2 you need a special faucet to give it the nice guiness style head (which
is basically a disk with holes in, which agitates the beer as it comes out).

Re: Recirculating Infusion Hopping System
Interesting, can't see any reasons why it wouldn't work, would just mean it takes a bit longer I guess to infuse.

Re: CO2 Suppliers in Surrey?
Shouldn't you make sure it's food grade CO2 though, couldn't there be trace ammounts of other gases in that case?

Re: Recirculating Infusion Hopping System
I figure this should be a lot faster than dry hopping and waiting a while - as the beer is being forced through hops.
Yeah, I'll have to test it out with different beers.

Recirculating Infusion Hopping System
Just had a little idea to dry hop faster, which I’m going to call Recirculating Infusion Hopping System ;) I recirculate the beer through a hop filled filter, using a pump. At the moment I've only tested using water, but it's working great :) And I didn't have to prime the pump manually, as I just...

Re: slight mistake on a cider kit! help.
I'm curious if you could use turbo yeast with it, maybe someone who's used it could comment on it?
(I've heard it may produce odd flavours though, as it seems it's mainly used by people who distill their wash)
